The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Son clinches up with Demaestri and pushes him back against the cage.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Demaestri is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Demaestri drops back, looking for a kneebar! Son looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Son looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Son!

Son thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Oh but Demaestri is tightening it up a little... Son has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Son reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Son taps out! Nice BJJ there by Demaestri!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brinker scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Brinker feints a jab promting Cleo to slip. Brinker then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cleo slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Cleo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Brinker cracks Cleo with a good jab.
Brinker jabs Cleo right on the nose. Cleo blinks but takes it well.
Cleo misses with a takedown attempt - Brinker sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Brinker comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Cleo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cleo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Huerta looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Stiglitz!
The strikes coming from Huerta are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Stiglitz manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Stiglitz works his way to full guard. Good work.

Stiglitz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Huerta defends well.
Huerta throws a strike but Stiglitz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stiglitz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Huerta is proving hard to escape from.
Huerta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stiglitz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Huerta is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Huerta wants to stand up but Stiglitz is controlling him.
Stiglitz wants to get up but he can't break Huerta's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Stiglitz wants to pass the guard but Huerta is keeping the position.
Stiglitz wants to control from the top but Huerta keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hugo Stiglitz wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Stiglitz dives in and grabs Huerta's left leg, looking for a takedown. Huerta pushes down on Stiglitz's head and hops out.
Huerta gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Huerta shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Huerta looks to land a strike but Stiglitz avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Huerta content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Stiglitz has locked up a guillotine! Stiglitz's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Huerta is holding on here and Stiglitz must be using up a lot of energy. Huerta has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Stiglitz gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Garcius feints and as Matsuoka raises his hands in defense, Garcius changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Garcius trying to control but Matsuoka is working from the bottom.
Matsuoka preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Garcius has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Garcius drops back, looking for a kneebar! Matsuoka looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Matsuoka looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Matsuoka!

Garcius sneaks out the side door and pushes Matsuoka away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Horrible takedown by Garcius or perhaps it was just good defense by Matsuoka which made him look bad.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ryo Matsuoka.

Kyunkell leaves his chin hanging out and Connor seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Kyunkell crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

An out of breath Matthew Connor thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
