The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvarez throws a series of punches but Mayhem moves out of range. Alvarez ducks right into an uppercut from Mayhem. Mayhem showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Alvarez.
Alvarez throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Alvarez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Alvarez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mayhem moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Alvarez misses with a double jab
and Mayhem counters by clinching up. Alvarez is trying to force a seperation but Mayhem has the dominant position. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Mayhem scores with a nice hook to the head. A head punch on the inside from Alvarez fails to land. Mayhem stalling in the clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanayama drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Hanayama shoots in for a takedown but Medina shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Medina stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Medina wants it to stay on the feet. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Hanayama checks a leg kick. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Medina tries to clinch but Hanayama moves out of range. Hanayama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hanayama gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Medina in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Medina landing with the ground and pound. Medina postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Medina wanted to stand there but Hanayama had control of the position. Hanayama is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Medina has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. And that's the end of the fight! Joysula Ashton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ashton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benoit throws a right and a left that both miss. Benoit throws a hook but Vriden avoids it easily. Benoit is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vriden. Danga de danga de dang - Benoit scores with a four punch combination! Benoit looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Benoit is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Vriden moves out of range as Benoit strikes. Benoit moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Vriden will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A shot to the body from Vriden misses and Benoit counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Benoit goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Good shot there by Benoit. Benoit connects with the punch. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matthieu Benoit. Well Benoit has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Hammer looks up at the clock and then as Cox takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hammer smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Hammer is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cox postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Hammer in real trouble here! The ref calls for Hammer to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
