The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rudnov shoots in for a takedown but Nickoson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Nickoson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nickoson leaves Rudnov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That was a close round but I would say that Brock Nickoson will probably get the nod.

Poo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Carlton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Poo, pushing him back against the cage.

Carlton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Carlton walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Carlton lands a nice looking body kick.
The fighters circle momentarily. Poo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Carlton bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Carlton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Poo's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Carlton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Poo's guard.

That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Carlton! Submission of the night perhaps?

Let's hope that Tristan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
