12 - 12 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, DeSean Jackson! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Lou da Vinci and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson throws a right hand that Jackson ducks under and follows up with a left that Jackson also avoids with ease. Jackson throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Sloppy strikes from Jackson. Those never looked like landing. A punch combination from Johnson misses. Jackson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Johnson misses the jab. Johnson avoids the head kick by Jackson.
Jackson misses with a straight left. Jackson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johnson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Jackson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Johnson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

This has been an exciting period of action! Johnson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Jackson is doing well to control the position and prevent Johnson from advancing to side control. Johnson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Johnson wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position. Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jackson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Johnson regains half guard. Jackson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Johnson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jackson.

Jackson winds up and cracks Johnson with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Jackson is nestled in close to Johnson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Jackson trying to control from Johnson's half guard. Johnson has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Johnson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson is aware though and is defending well. Johnson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jackson stacks Johnson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jackson! Jackson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jackson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Jackson drops an elbow to the side of Johnson's head. Johnson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jackson. Out throws a lazy right hand but The Kid sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. The Kid thows a body shot but no joy. Out lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Out. The Kid tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Out makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Out misses with a double jab.
The Kid tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Out counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. The Kid is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Out closes the distance and pushes The Kid back into the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walter moves to clinch but Maiden breaks away and Maiden counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Maiden scores with a jab to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Walter. Maiden does a little dance to reset his feet. Walter ducks under a wild hook from Maiden. Walter tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Maiden moves out of range of the body kick. Maiden scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Maiden tests Walter's chin there with a solid looking shot. Walter tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Maiden cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Some wild striking there from Maiden.
Walter on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Maiden. Maiden obviously looking to wear him down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maiden tries a head kick but it misses.
Walter lands a big head kick that sends Maiden tumbling to the mat! Walter takes a step backwards and waves Maiden back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Eddy Maiden has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Walter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maiden paws at him with a jab and circles away. Maiden slips a jab and a cross from Walter.
Maiden looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Maiden trying to pass the guard but Walter defending well. Walter trying to get back to full guard but Maiden takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Walter is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Walter won't allow Maiden to pass to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walter kicks off Maiden and gets to his feet. Walter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Walter doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Walter takes one on the button. Walter takes a shot right to the bread basket. Walter slips a straight right by Maiden. A head kick misses from Maiden. Walter needs to keep his hands up - Maiden had a free shot at his head there.

That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Walter shoots in for a takedown but Maiden shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Maiden throws a nice looking combination but Walter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Walter misses with a wild combination.
Maiden looks to throw the jab but Walter is out of range. Maiden displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Walter. Maiden shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Walter but Walter pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maiden tries to avoid it but Walter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maiden to the ground. Maiden escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Eddy Maiden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Walter. Walter fails in his attempt to clinch. Walter misses with a takedown and Maiden counters with a nice double leg into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Maiden won't allow Walter to get back to his feet. Maiden trying to control the position from guard on top but Walter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Maiden is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Maiden trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Eddy Maiden will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Eddy Maiden's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Walter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Maiden defends it nicely. Maiden with a hook. Maiden shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Maiden is figuring out what he wants to do next. Maiden prevents Walter from improving his position. Maiden will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Maiden slows the pace down in half guard. Walter is looking for a sweep. Maiden is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Walter is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maiden is controlling him.

Maiden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walter keeps working. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maiden working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Maiden drops an elbow to the side of Walter's head. Walter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Maiden's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Maiden's back! Maiden rolls, trying to escape but Walter keeps control of the position.
Walter has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maiden prevents Walter from getting a body triangle. Maiden looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Maiden wants to escape the position.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Walter's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Well, with Walter on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Maiden is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Walter is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Maiden defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Good control from Walter. Walter looking for the RNC. Walter working for a choke but Maiden reverses nicely into Walter 's guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maiden makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walter has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Walter there as he acknowledges the shot. Maiden throws a looping overhand right but Walter ducks down to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maiden stuffs the takedown attempt from Walter. Walter gets slowly back to his feet. Walter shoots for a takedown but Maiden saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Eddy Maiden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Walter. Walter swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Maiden counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Maiden drives through with a takedown into Walter's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Maiden trying to control the position from guard on top but Walter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Maiden preventing the sweep. Walter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Walter can't keep his opponent in guard - Maiden advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Still in half guard, Maiden seems content to control. Maiden seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Walter for as long as he can get away with. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Walter shoots in but Maiden avoids the takedown attempt easily. Maiden misses with a series of wild punches.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sweeperton has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from David. Sweeperton swings away with a body shot that misses
and David holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. A knee to the head by David.
David can't find room to land a body shot as Sweeperton controls the action.
David is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. David obliges. Sweeperton is trying to work for a single leg takedown but David pulls him back up using the underhooks. A right hand to the body from David.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! David lands a nice shot to the body. A short body shot lands from David as the two fighters clinch.
David pushes Sweeperton back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Sweeperton is breathing heavily. David lands with a short head shot on the inside. David prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. David lands a really nice looking cross but Sweeperton seems unphased.
Sweeperton jabbing away but nothing is landing. Sweeperton looks to throw a body kick and David counters with a straight right hand. David scores with a push kick. David is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sweeperton had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Sweeperton tries to clinch but David is having none of it. David defending well as Sweeperton loads up on a big left hand. David throws a body punch but Sweeperton moves out of range. Sweeperton takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
David lands with a right hand. Sweeperton walks into a straight right hand from David. A shot to the body from Sweeperton misses and David moves into the clinch. Sweeperton goes for a takedown attempt but David pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and David makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Sweeperton really felt that one! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sweeperton. Sweeperton takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. David stuffs the takedown.

He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. David digs a right hand into Sweeperton's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Sweeperton's gas tank. Sweeperton is looking for a takedown up against the cage. David gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. David lands with a light punch inside. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! David lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. David lands a knee to the head.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chavez misses with a two punch combination.

Chavez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Corleone pushes Chavez back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Chavez is trying to break the clinch but Corleone is controlling him. A nice right hand lands inside from Corleone. Corleone struggles to land a body shot inside as Chavez controls his hands.
Corleone lands with a short punch from the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action! Chavez is trying to break free. Chavez throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Corleones head. Chavez blocks the elbow strike.
