0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bas Rutten! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva tries to clinch and Rutten counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rutten. Rutten breaks from the clinch.
Silva checks a leg kick. Silva pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Silva tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Rutten moves into the clinch. Rutten breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silva closes the distance looking to clinch and Rutten moves into the clinch. Rutten leaning his opponent against the cage. Silva landing some nice looking knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rutten pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Silva. No joy for Rutten on that attempt. Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Rutten manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Silva misses with a takedown and Rutten counters by clinching up. Silva is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Silva misses with an elbow over the top. Rutten breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silva lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Silva. Silva clinches up with Rutten and pushes him back against the cage. Rutten's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Silva thuds a left hand into Rutten's body.

Silva sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. This has been an exciting period of action! Rutten gets a double leg takedown into Silva's guard. Silva is breathing heavily. Rutten throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silva works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Rutten gets to his feet - Silva follows without any prompting. Rutten shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Rutten must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rutten stands up from Silva's guard - Rutten perhaps looking for a knockout. Rutten gets control of Silva's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rutten will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rutten looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rutten! Rutten decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Rutten breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rutten as he jumps to the side. Rutten throws a head kick that Silva semi-blocks.
Silva misses with a body kick. Rutten fails with a takedown attempt from distance. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rutten circles away from the clinch attempt and Rutten counters by moving into the clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bas Rutten has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Silva closes the distance looking to clinch and Rutten decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard. Silva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rutten defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silva keeping moving, preventing Rutten from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bas Rutten showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rutten moves away. Silva looks to clinch and Rutten counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rutten blocks a head kick by Silva.
Rutten feints and as Silva raises his hands in defense, Rutten changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Rutten stands and steps away. Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Rutten shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rutten seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Rutten trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom.

Rutten really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rutten stands up and waves to Silva to follow him. Rutten shoots in looking for a takedown but Silva manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rutten's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Let's see if he can advance position further. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rutten stops Silva from getting back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rutten is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Silva defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Silva trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Rutten looking to break Silva's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Silva remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Rutten will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Silva has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rutten somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
And that's the end of the fight! Bas Rutten comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Rutten has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Unum scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Walker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Unum thows a huge punch but Walker dodges it nicely.
Walker is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walker kicks Unum off and gets back to his feet. Walker shoots in but Unum avoids the takedown attempt easily. Unum fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Walker, pushing him back against the cage. Knees to the body from Unum.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Unum tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Walker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Unum pinned against the cage. Unum gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Walker tries for a takedown but Unum sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Unum wants to clinch. Johny Walker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Unum moves into range and clinches up with Walker.

Wellington is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Eden is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Eden has escaped and now he's on top! Eden looking to pass the guard. Eden wants to control from the top but Wellington keeps moving. Eden throwing strikes but missing. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hemlos looks to land a body kick but Russo moved away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Russo. Hemlos shoots in for a double leg but Russo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Russo is defended easily by Hemlos. Russo clinches with his opponent.
Russo manages to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Russo looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Russo has his feet on Hemlos's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Russo closes the distance and clinches. Russo stalls. A shot in the inside from Russo.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Siimons wants to get back to his feet but Loko is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
