After the fight, Pound Mcgee was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Doorman kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Gold Halo-The Datsuns. Both these guys have really solid chins. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sampson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from The Jackal - the referee stops the clock and Sampson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says The Jackal. Sampson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

The Jackal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and The Jackal wants it to stay on the feet.
The Jackal displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sampson.
Sampson tries to clinch up but The Jackal circles away and keeps his distance.

Sampson clinches.
Sampson lands a good knee to the midsection. The Jackal won't want to take too many of those.

The Jackal breaks the clinch.
Sampson wants to clinch up but The Jackal keeps it at a distance.

The Jackal tries to keep at a distance but Sampson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
The Jackal is trying to break the clinch but Sampson is controlling him.

Sampson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but The Jackal pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Julz The Jackal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Sampson.

Sampson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but The Jackal circles away quickly and effectively.
Sampson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Sampson shoots in and gets a takedown into The Jackal's guard.
The Jackal has momentary wrist control but Sampson slips an elbow through the middle.
The Jackal wants to stand but Sampson is controlling the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sampson wants to stand but The Jackal has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Sampson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. The Jackal swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sampson stops The Jackal from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sampson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Sampson forces his way into half guard.
The Jackal is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Jackal is staying active underneath Sampson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sampson passes to full mount!
Sampson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Sampson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control The Jackal haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Sampson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. The Jackal looks a forlorn figure.

The Jackal is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The Jackal is squirming around, avoiding Sampson's attempts to control the action.
Sampson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Jackal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

And that's the end of the fight!

I think Sampson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
