Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Axe Hammer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Simler! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hammer feints and as Simler raises his hands in defense, Hammer changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Hammer's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Axe Hammer wasn't doing enough on the ground. Hammer lands a body shot.
Simler swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Simler misses with an uppercut. Hammer saw that one coming. Hammer lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Simler at a distance.
Hammer misses with a hook
and Simler counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Simler gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hammer. Simler moves forwards but Hammer connects with a nice, crisp jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hammer lands with a shot to the body. Hammer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Simler.
Hammer swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Simler. Hammer stuns Simler with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Hammer scores with a punch to the head. Simler throws a shot from downtown. Hammer moves away and avoids it. Axe Hammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hammer connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Simler tumbling to the canvas! Hammer pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Simler was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Axe Hammer! Axe Hammer decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! bk tries to clinch there but O Palmeiras circles away.
O Palmeiras pushes bk up against the cage in a clinch. bk wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Come on O Palmeiras - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
bk tries to pull guard but O Palmeiras forces him back to his feet, against the cage. O Palmeiras breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
bk shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. O Palmeiras closes the distance and lands a one-two. bk misses with a takedown attempt letting O Palmeiras counter with a right hand. Flauta does a little dance to reset his feet. Flauta fails with the takedown and Flauta takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Flauta shoots for a takedown but Lee saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Flauta keeps the fight on the outside. Lee moves into the clinch. Pontes fails with the takedown and Oliveira cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Oliveira misses with a looping left. Pontes fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Oliveira to the ground. Pontes is now in Oliveira's guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawasaki moves forwards but Clam Digger connects with a nice, crisp jab. Clam Digger scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Clam Digger keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Clam Digger gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Kawasaki jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Clam Digger walks away with a smile on his face. Kawasaki gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
