2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Chain! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Eddie Farnsworth and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chain showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smith.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Chain misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Smith works over Chain's head and body with a nice combination. Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Chain's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chain tries to improve position but can't. Smith decides to stand back up. Smith steps back and let's Chain get back to his feet. Smith connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Chain misses with a takedown and Smith counters with a straight right hand. Chain takes one to the side of the head.
Smith scores with a decent looking hook. Chain moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Chain shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Smith counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Chain's guard now. Felix Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Chain. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Smith stands and steps away. Chain gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Chain fails with the takedown and Smith counters with a two punch combo.

Pattison shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Adams's guard. John Adams has got the better of the ground game so far. Adams pushes Pattison off and scrambles back to his feet.

Clavette on the wrong end of a nice jab. Clavette shoots and misses and Gracie makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Clavette shoots for a takedown but Gracie saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Gracie, right into the meat.

A jab from Clavette misses. Gracie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Clavette moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gracie throws a right and a left that Clavette avoids nicely. Clavette tries for a takedown but Gracie circles away easily and Gracie cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Clavette gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Gracie scoring with strikes to the body and head. Gracie missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Gracie is keen to just control but Clavette is a slippery customer. Clavette tries to kick Gracie off but Gracie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Clavette is not content to let Gracie control the position. Gracie stalling away here and it's allowed Clavette to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Gracie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Clavette looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Clavette looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Clavette! Gracie wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Clavette wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gracie keeps working. Gracie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Gracie pushes Clavette off and gets back to his feet. Gracie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Clavette with a poor takedown and Gracie counters with an inside leg kick. Clavette rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Gracie feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Clavette's calf. Gracie lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Clavette misses with a looping left. Clavette misses with a straight left.

Clavette is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Clavette loads up on a big right hand but Gracie slips the punch. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Duxx. Stone throws a hook but Duxx blocks it. Duxx fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Stone looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Duxx scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Stone is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Duxx closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Duxx lands an elbow inside that Stone shrugs off.
It looks like Chris Stone has been cut. Duxx lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Stone backwards. Duxx pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Duxx scores with a shot to the body.
Stone takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Duxx sends Stone crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Duxx is motioning to the referee to let Stone up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! A kick lands to the mid section there for Duxx. Duxx changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Duxx clinches up against the cage. Duxx lands a shot to the body. Duxx lands a hook that snaps the head of Stone backwards.
Chris Stone's cut is getting worse. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Duxx creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Stone misses with a short punch on the inside. A shot in the inside from Duxx.
Stone is rocked! Duxx creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Stone with a big uppercut! Stone tries to clinch up but Duxx pushes him back against the cage and lands another moster strike that crumples Stone to the mat! Stone covers up and Duxx unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
