Daniel Andersson had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.9lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Mitchell stalks Idol and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Idol's face. Idol staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Steve Idol has been cut.
A combination from Mitchell does no damage.
Idol tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mitchell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Idol somewhat.
Mitchell tries to bum rush Idol with a series of wild strikes but Idol uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Idol tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mitchell swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Idol throws out a leg kick but Mitchell moves out of range and Idol only half commits.
Idol tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Idol throws a head kick but Mitchell moves out of range.
A shot to the liver by Mitchell. Beautiful body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Idol gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Mitchell.
Idol takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mitchell connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Idol looks winded!

Oooooh!!! Mitchell has knocked Idol down with a huge combo! Mitchell steps away and waves a wobbly Idol back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

That has opened up Steve Idol's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Idol shoots in for a takedown but Mitchell shows good takedown defense.
Mitchell goes for a small jab and connects. Now Mitchell goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Idol stumbles back but Mitchell runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Idol to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Idol will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
