The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bice lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Bice throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. West was covering up waiting for the punch and Bice finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Bice is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

West tries to improve position but can't.

Bice is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. West is trying to escape and Bice transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and West is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bice! Very nice indeed!

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chinzo Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naza Malegarie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Naza Malegarie struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Machida ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Machida counters with a crisp one two that drops Malegarie! Machida thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Malegarie to his feet! Malegarie is in big trouble!

Chinzo Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Naza Malegarie.
Malegarie leaves his chin hanging out and Machida seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Malegarie crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
