The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drake blocks a jab. Drake closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. The ground and pound from Drake seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Drake in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Blanks is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kerr tries to clinch there but Strozyk circles away.
Strozyk avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Strozyk fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Strozyk throws a nice looking combination but Kerr bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Damien Strozyk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kerr moves in looking to clinch but Strozyk pushes him off. Strozyk misses with a wild combination.
Strozyk stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. The fight stays on the outside here - Strozyk looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Strozyk tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kerr swats him away and circles back towards the center. Strozyk moves in looking to clinch but Kerr pushes him off. Strozyk really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Strozyk lands a really nice looking cross but Kerr seems unphased.
Kerr tries to keep at a distance but Strozyk has taken the fight into the clinch. Kerr lands a right hand that snaps the head of Strozyk backwards. Kerr tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Strozyk's elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kerr makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Strozyk tries to throw a body punch but Kerr avoids it by throwing Strozyk back against the cage. Strozyk is trying to break free. Kerr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Strozyk throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kerr holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Kerr stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Karanova passes Tyssen's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Tyssen looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Tyssen wants to get back to full guard. Karanova is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tyssen defends it well. Karanova content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Karanova is pressing down on Tyssen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tyssen is holding on for now.

Karanova is fighting to maintain full guard but Tyssen has managed to sneak the leg through. Karanova tries to get to full guard but Tyssen has control of the leg. Tyssen tries to pass to full mount but Karanova defends it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! It looks like Tyssen is going to stand back up.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice body punch from Maxx. Maxx darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Average shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Maxx cracks Average with a big right hand and Average goes down!
Average is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
