Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Igz Kinkaid! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, AB CD! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! CD keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. CD changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kinkaid tries to avoid it but CD manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kinkaid to the ground. Kinkaid escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. CD closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. CD has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. CD jumps guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Kinkaid drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but CD manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kinkaid has CD in his guard. CD trying to control but Kinkaid is working from the bottom. Kinkaid is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kinkaid looking for a guillotine here but CD defends easily.
Kinkaid will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kinkaid has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but CD can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kinkaid is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. CD is aware though and is defending well. CD is sitting in close to Kinkaid's body. Kinkaid has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! CD is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, CD is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Kinkaid.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones throws a head kick that misses. Jones avoids the head kick by Irusta.

Irusta gets tackled into the cage by Jones. Jones maintains the clinch. Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Irusta shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Irusta has a takedown stuffed. Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Irusta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones trying to control but Irusta is working from the bottom. Irusta trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Irusta swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones wants to stand but Irusta has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work. Irusta manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to kick Irusta off but Irusta keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Irusta wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it. Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jones actively working from the bottom here. Jones trying to control from the bottom.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Irusta. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Irusta is trying to work for a kimura but Jones is defending well.

Jones slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Irusta accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Irusta stops Jones from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Irusta wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet. Irusta scoring with punches to the head and body. Irusta gets to his feet. Jones looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Irusta shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Jones looks winded! Irusta prevents Jones from getting back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Irusta with a flurry of punches that miss. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Irusta swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones trying to control but Irusta is working from the bottom. Irusta trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Claudio Irusta wasn't doing enough on the ground. Jones closes the distance and pushes Irusta back into the cage.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Irusta in particular looking to stall. Irusta looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Jones is holding on to half guard well. Irusta works his way into side control.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Claudio Irusta. I think Irusta has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
