The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ronald will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jones misses with a double jab.
Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ronald circles away quickly and effectively.
Ronald fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.
Chris Ronald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jones fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Ronald will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jones misses with a series of wild punches.

John Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ronald.
Ronald showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.
Ronald tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A bone on bone clash there as Ronald blocks the leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones is trying to force a seperation but Ronald has the dominant position.
Jones has had enough of the clinch but Ronald keeps him there for the moment.

Ronald has hold of one of Jones's legs. Jones is fighting the takedown attempt but Ronald gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris Ronald.
I think Ronald has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Vallely comes to the cage accompanied by CKY - 96 Quite Bitter Beings. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mario Alberto Neri was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Vallely stalling against the cage.
Neri goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Neri with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Vallely escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Vallely closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Vallely looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Neri with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Vallely is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Neri wants to control but Vallely is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Vallely stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Vallely closes the distance and clinches.

Vallely has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Neri is trying to keep an underhook but Vallely manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Vallely gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Vallely rushes Neri and presses him up against the cage.

Vallely breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Neri throws a head kick but Vallely moves out of range.
Mario Alberto Neri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vallely stuns Neri with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Vallely stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vallely wants it to stay on the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Vallely on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Vallely blocks an uppercut.
Vallely lands a damaging elbow.
Neri throws a punch but it's blocked by Vallely.
Neri struggles to land a body shot inside as Vallely controls his hands.
Vallely presses Neri against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Vallely taking a breather.
Vallely lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Neri is trying to stall.
Neri swings wildly with an uppercut but Vallely uses good head movement to avoid it.

Vallely dodges an elbow strike from Neri.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Vallely uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Neri has time to react.
Neri throws a solid leg kick but Vallely takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Neri.
Vallely connects with a crisp jab.
Neri fails with a takedown attempt.
Neri looks winded!
Neri rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Vallely counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Vallely clinches with his opponent.

Vallely gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Vallely perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mike Vallely just wasn't active enough.
Neri takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Vallely has Neri up against the cage in a clinch.
Vallely lands a body punch in the clinch.
Vallely landing some nice looking knees to the body.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Vallely takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Vallely lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Neri backwards.

Vallely successfully pulls guard.
Vallely has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Vallely has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Neri doesn't defend quickly enough and Vallely has managed to lock this one up! Can Neri escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Vallely on a fantastic submission victory.

Mike Vallely is the new middleweight champion!
In his post fight interview, Mike Vallely started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Roads ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Roads lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Slim at a distance.
Slim moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slim backs away from a small jab... but Roads lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Slim crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Roads with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Damien Roads!
Our winner, Damien Roads, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donald Fraser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Chavo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Fraser might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sirius. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Chavo throws a jab when Fraser was well out of range.

Chavo moves out of range as Fraser strikes.
Fraser takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Chavo takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like El Chavo has been cut.
Fraser takes one to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fraser displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Chavo throws out the jab.

Chavo connects with a body shot that sends Fraser's belly button to the back.
Chavo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fraser but Fraser pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Fraser throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Chavo has a takedown stuffed.
Chavo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Fraser throws a shot from downtown. Chavo moves away and avoids it.
Fraser bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Chavo's head backwards.
Fraser throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fraser connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Chavo's hands.
Chavo defending well as Fraser loads up on a big left hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chavo slips a jab from Fraser.
Fraser lands with a cross.

That has opened up El Chavo's cut even more.
Fraser digs a good body shot into Chavo's ribs.
Fraser gets in close and tags Chavo with a short punch that almost sends Chavo to the mat! Oh Chavo is in big trouble! He turns his back on Fraser, trying to create some distance but Fraser rushes him, striking wildly and Chavo goes down! The referee tackles Fraser into the cage to end the fight! Fraser is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Donald Fraser!
Donald Fraser is the new heavyweight champion!
Donald Fraser decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
