3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Casy Carver! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones drives through with a takedown into Carver's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Jones trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Carver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jones pushes down on Carver's leg and manages to get into half guard. Jones is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carver doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jones. Carver blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jones. Jones is working for a kimura but Carver is defending it quite comfortably.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jones throwing shots but Carver is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carver trying to control here.
Carver tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg. Carver makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Carver. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Carver is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jones stopping the sweep attempt from Carver.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to stand but Carver has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Carver looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Carver looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Carver! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Carver works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Carver working the ground and pound. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones tries to bench press Carver off him but Carver keeps the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carver working the body and head with strikes. Jones prevents Carver from improving position. Jones is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Jones is trying to get back to full guard. Carver is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jones has managed to free his arm - good work. Jones makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jones. Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Carver scoring with punches to the head and body. Carver wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Carver with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Carver cracks Jones with a solid left hand. Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carver defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Carver is proving a slippery customer.

Jones is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carver works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jones has momentary wrist control but Carver slips an elbow through the middle. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Carver's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Carver trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carver manages to get himself to full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Michael Jones will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Jones throws a low kick but it's checked well by Carver. Jones takes the fight into the clinch. Carver has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jones uses from the top position. Carver wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jones throwing strikes but missing. Jones throws a big elbow that misses. Carver has a closed guard, preventing Jones from standing up. Carver working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones won't allow Carver to get back to his feet. Jones postures up and lands a big shot to Carver's brow. Carver throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jones trying to control but Carver is working from the bottom. Jones in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Jones tries to stand but Carver is controlling from the bottom. Jones is fighting to break Carver's control of his arms but Carver is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carver has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jones passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Jones is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carver doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jones. Carver is trying to stand back up but Jones is controlling him

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carver can do anything to dispel that myth. Jones trying to control the action but Carver is working from the bottom. Michael Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jones throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Jones is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carver defends it well. Jones throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Carver moves out of range as Jones strikes. Jones throws a nice looking combination but Carver bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jones tries to move to mount but Carver blocks the move with his legs. Carver is looking for a sweep.

Carver trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet. Carver cracks Jones with a solid left hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Michael Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Michael Jones wins by unanimous decision! A relieved looking Michael Jones thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
