The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mike misses with a takedown attempt and Barker counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Mike is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Barker jumps into side control! Mike is trying to control Barker's posture but Barker avoids it. Barker stands up and we're back to a striking position. Barker wants to clinch. Barker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mike swats him away and circles back towards the center. Barker blocks a head kick by Mike.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mike closes the distance and pushes Barker back into the cage. Barker lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Barker lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mike backwards. Barker lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Iron Mike has been cut. Mike is trying to drag Barker to the mat but Barker just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Barker using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lynch fails with the takedown and Johnson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lynch's guard now. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Lynch keeping full guard, as Johnson tries to pass. Lynch has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though. Lynch keeping full guard, as Johnson tries to pass. Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lynch is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnson is aware though and is defending well. Johnson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Johnson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Lynch throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Johnson escapes and throws Lynch's legs to the side, diving into side control! Lynch gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Robert Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lynch is looking to get to half guard.

Lynch is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Johnson gets his way!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dos Santos sends Becks crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Dos Santos is motioning to the referee to let Becks up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Dos Santos weaves into range and cracks Becks right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Becks goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Dos Santos is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Boev throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Schmidt stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Boev throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Boev slips a straight right by Schmidt. Boev throws a right hand that Schmidt ducks under and follows up with a left that Schmidt also avoids with ease. Schmidt tries to clinch there but Boev circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Boev. Boev throws a leg kick which misses Schmidt's front leg but catches the back leg as Schmidt tries to avoid it. Schmidt is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boev shoots in for a takedown but Schmidt shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jon Schmidt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dimitar Boev. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Boev shoots in for a takedown but Schmidt shows good takedown defense. Schmidt is trying hard to land a takedown here. Boev sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Boev dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Boev jabs Schmidt to the body, keeping him at a distance. Boev rushes Schmidt and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Boev scores with a shot to the side of Schmidt's head. Boev's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Boev looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Boev throws a leg kick but Schmidt sees it coming and checks it nicely. Boev dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Boev shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Schmidt defends it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boev thuds his right hand into Schmidt's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Boev drives through and clinches with Schmidt against the cage.
Boev breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Boev pivots, looking for a leg kick but Schmidt is out of range and Boev settles back down. Boev tries to close the distance and clinch up but Schmidt swats him away and circles back towards the center. Boev manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Schmidt on his heels. He'll look to pass Schmidt's guard now, I'm sure. Boev controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Let's hope that Boev has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Boev's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
