The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Atlas dives in and scores a takedown into Firo's guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Firo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Atlas wants to control but Firo is keeping busy.
Firo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Atlas knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Atlas can do anything to dispel that myth. Firo is working hard here to advance position. Firo prevents Atlas from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atlas is not content to let Firo control the position. Firo wants to stand up but Atlas has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Luegos Firo. Firo moves out of range of the body kick. Firo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

It looks like Dougie Atlas has been cut. Firo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Atlas has time to react. Atlas fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Firo sprawls well initially but Atlas persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Firo wants to get back to his feet. Atlas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Firo sees it coming and defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Atlas is working for a kimura but Firo is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Atlas is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Firo! Firo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Atlas is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Firo is surviving well by controlling Atlas's body position as best he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Atlas moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Firo has worked his arm free - good work by Firo!
Firo is not content to let Atlas control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atlas cracks Firo with an elbow. That is naaassty. Atlas working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Atlas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Firo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Atlas working away. Atlas landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Firo stops Atlas from passing to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Atlas working the head with strikes. Atlas prevents Firo from escaping the position. Firo is breathing heavily. Atlas tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Firo taking a bit of punishment here - Atlas scoring with strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Firo trying to remain calm as Atlas controls from the top position. Atlas working the ground and pound from side control. Atlas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Firo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Atlas tries for a kimura but Firo is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Atlas fails to land the takedown. Atlas should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Firo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Atlas. That did some damage! Firo lands a jab to the head.
Atlas shoots in looking for a takedown. Firo tries to sprawl out of it but Atlas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Firo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Firo slaps away a takedown attempt from Atlas, before circling back to the center of the mat. Luegos Firo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dougie Atlas. Firo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Firo wants it to stay on the feet. Firo stuffs the takedown attempt from Atlas. Atlas gets slowly back to his feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Atlas is defended easily by Firo. Atlas is breathing heavily.

Firo scores with a punch to the head. Firo gets caught napping as Atlas dives in and scores a takedown. Firo manages to retain guard. Atlas preventing the sweep. Atlas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Firo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Firo has escaped and now he's on top! Firo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Luegos Firo is winning the standup battle so far. Firo lands a left and a right that send Atlas crashing to the mat, dazed. Firo thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Atlas is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! OH! Atlas has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Firo smells blood and charges in for the finish! Firo unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Atlas sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dantas moves out of range of the leg kick from Srsen. Srsen throws a sloppy head kick and Dantas moves out of range easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Srsen. Srsen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dantas but Dantas pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dantas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Srsen closes the distance and lands a one-two. Srsen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dantas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Srsen somewhat. Jack Dantas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Srsen. Dantas misses with a double jab
and Srsen counters by moving into the clinch. Dantas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Srsen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dantas wants it to stay on the feet. Srsen fails in his attempt to clinch. Dantas stuffs the takedown attempt from Srsen. It looks like Daniel Srsen has been cut. Srsen is looking to take this one to the mat. Srsen tries to break the clinch but Dantas is controlling the position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dantas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Srsen swats away the attempt to clinch by Dantas.

Srsen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Left hook, right uppercut from Dantas. Dantas is looking to clinch but Srsen is avoiding it.

Nice takedown defense from Dantas. No joy for Srsen on that attempt. Dantas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Srsen paws at him with a jab and circles away. Srsen tries to bum rush Dantas with a series of wild strikes but Dantas uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Dantas forces Srsen back against the cage and clinches. Dantas lands an elbow that stopped Srsen in his tracks for a moment. Dantas throws a punch but it's blocked by Srsen. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dantas turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Dantas manages to end up in side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dantas tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Daniel Srsen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dantas stands up and we're back to a striking position.
