1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gray Vick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tuukka Rask! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vick fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Rask on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Rask gets a takedown into half guard. Vick looking for submissions off his back. Vick works his way to full guard. Good work. Rask wants to control from the top but Vick keeps moving. Rask trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Vick has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rask can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vick has his foot on Rask's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rask works his way back into a safe position though. Rask stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vick swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rask throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rask really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vick looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Vick keeping moving, preventing Rask from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vick is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rask trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Vick has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Rask doesn't defend quickly enough and Vick has managed to lock this one up! Can Rask escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Vick on a fantastic submission victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevens uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nelson.
Victor Stevens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nelson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Nelson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stevens throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nelson's head. Stevens is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Nelson digs a good hook to Stevens's body.

and Sandoval counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kjeldsson's knee momentarily. Kjeldsson throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Sandoval's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Kjeldsson dives in looking to finish as Sandoval flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Kjeldsson's strikes! Kjeldsson is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Sandoval's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Sandoval was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, ILja Muromets! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Muromets shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kemp counters with a crisp one two that drops Muromets! Kemp thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Muromets to his feet! Muromets is in big trouble! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Muromets swings for the body but Kemp moves out of range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kemp. Muromets will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. ILja Muromets seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Muromets throws a right and a left that Kemp avoids nicely. Muromets lands a jab. Kemp throws a head kick that half lands.
Muromets is rocked! Muromets is aggressively charging in as Kemp backs up avoiding any damage. Kemp tosses out a jab and Muromets runs right into it face first! Muromets is out cold! Kemp dropped down on all fours and is barking in Muromets's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hikaru closes this distance looking for a takedown but Grant circles away. Grant will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hikaru misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Grant.
Hikaru does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Hikaru clinches with his opponent.
Hikaru softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Hikaru misses with an elbow strike.
Grant has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hikaru is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Hikaru lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Brandon Grant has been cut. Grant avoids a wild elbow strike from Hikaru. Hikaru lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Hikaru trying to land knees to the body.
Grant has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hikaru avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Grant blocks an elbow strike from Hikaru.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grant fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Akisame Hikaru has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brandon Grant. Grant on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
The referee is keeping an eye on Hikaru - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Hikaru lands a right hand that snaps the head of Grant backwards.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hikaru will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Grant up against the cage. Grant wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hikaru has him pressed against the cage. Grant blocks the elbow strike.
Grant is looking for a takedown. Hikaru is pushing Grant up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Hikaru tries to work over Grant's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Grant breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hikaru misses the body punch and Grant counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Grant postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Grant with a nice head shot there. Grant is posturing up here but Hikaru has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Grant tries to roll out but it's too tight and Grant has to tap! Slick submission there by Hikaru!
