The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zangief is looking to land body kicks.
Cornholio closes the distance and clinches up with Zangief, looking for a takedown. Cornholio pushes Zangief against the cage but Zangief circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Great Cornholio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cornholio doesn't manage to clinch there - Zangief circles away.

Cornholio forces Zangief back against the cage and clinches.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Zangief just misses with a elbow thrown towards Cornholio's brow.
Cornholio stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Zangief creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Zangief tries to land knees in the clinch but Cornholio avoids the damage to the body.

Zangief pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Zangief throws a head kick that misses.

Cornholio rushes Zangief and presses him up against the cage.

Cornholio pulls guard effortlessly.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Zangief has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cornholio is proving hard to escape from.

Cornholio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zangief doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Cornholio is tightening it up a little... Zangief has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Zangief reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Zangief taps out! Nice BJJ there by Cornholio!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi misses with a hook. Trenchev ducked under it nicely.
Trenchev falls off balance throwing a combination
and Gomi counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gomi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Trenchev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gomi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Trenchev gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gomi to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Trenchev is trying to keep Gomi in close.
Gomi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gomi sends Trenchev crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gomi is motioning to the referee to let Trenchev up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Gomi throws an overhand right that has Trenchev reeling! Gomi follows up with more punches and Trenchev is out cold! This one is all over!

Yoshimitsu leaves Braquis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Yoshimitsu throws a head punch that misses.
Yoshimitsu drops down looking for an ankle pick but Braquis pulls his leg out and moves away.
Yoshimitsu shoots for a double leg takedown but Braquis sprawls well. He's pushed Yoshimitsu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Yoshimitsu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Braquis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Peace Braquis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ryo Yoshimitsu.

Sora throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cloud was covering up waiting for the punch and Sora finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sora wants to stand but Cloud has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Cloud pulls Sora in to control the position.

Sora got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cloud has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sora has managed to get both his arms back between Cloud's legs - danger averted.
Cloud is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Victor Cloud has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Sora misses with a takedown attempt - Cloud sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sora throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice takedown defense from Sora. No joy for Cloud on that attempt.
Sora shoots in looking for a takedown. Cloud tries to sprawl out of it but Sora keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cloud manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
