1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Viriato! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Viriato throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily. Viriato closes the distance but Smith moves to the side and Smith counters by moving into the clinch. Viriato pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Viriato slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat. Viriato clinches with his opponent.
Viriato wants to get back to striking at distance but Smith won't allow it.
Viriato is trying to maintain a safe position but Smith gets an underhook and turns Viriato into the cage. Smith prevents a body shot from Viriato. Viriato fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Smith breaks the clinch.
Smith throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Viriato counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Viriato misses with the combination.

Viriato looks to throw an elbow but misses. Smith trying to control the position but instead, Viriato has worked for underhooks and has pushed Smith into the cage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith wanted to stand there but Viriato had control of the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Viriato is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Smith sitting in guard here, content to control. That snapped Smith's head back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Smith fails with a takedown attempt. Horrible takedown by Viriato or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad.
And that's the end of the fight! David Viriato comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Viriato has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Home is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Marley doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Home. Marley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Home. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Home is working for a submission of some sort.
Marley is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Home has latched onto it... Big trouble! Home pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Marley is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Home!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Fatu fending off the submission attempt from Huerta. Fatu wants to control his opponent's hands but Huerta gets his hands free. Fatu is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Huerta is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Huerta struggling to land strikes to the head as Fatu covers up. Huerta working for the choke. Fatu trying to control the action but Huerta just sinks the hooks in. Huerta is hanging on to Fatu's back as he tries to escape.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A momentary lapse in concentration from Massiv enables Penn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Massiv manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Massiv keeping moving, preventing Penn from controlling successfully. Penn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Massiv swivels though and keeps the full guard. Penn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Penn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Penn passes Massiv's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Penn tries to pass to full mount but Massiv defends it. Penn has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Massiv defend it? Penn steps over the head and cranks it - Massiv is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Penn!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Huggins to counter with a crisp jab. Thomas will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Thomas closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Thomas fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for JJ Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thomas shoots in for a takedown but Huggins shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Huggins keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. No luck with that takedown attempt from Thomas. Thomas fails with a takedown attempt. Thomas is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Huggins fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thomas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Thomas will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. JJ Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thomas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Huggins clinches up with Thomas and pushes him back against the cage.

Thomas jumps guard but Huggins stands there with Thomas around his waist. Thomas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Huggins creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Still in the clinch, Huggins scores with a nice short uppercut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thomas jumps guard but Huggins turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Huggins obliges. Thomas's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Huggins lands with a short punch from the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A short uppercut from Huggins. Huggins lands a nice elbow. Huggins makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Huggins lands with a left to the head. A short left from Huggins. Huggins gets through Thomas's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Huggins lands a left hand that snaps the head of Thomas backwards. A short uppercut from Huggins.
Thomas is rocked! Huggins drops Thomas onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Thomas is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet! Oh Thomas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Huggins working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Nice elbow from Huggins. Thomas takes a shot to the head. Huggins dips a shoulder and cracks Thomas with a mighty uppercut! Thomas falls back against the cage and Huggins unloads with a barrage of strikes! Thomas is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Huggins screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Nope, Munanaposa circles away and we're back to standing. Munanaposa dives in and grabs Etevem's left leg, looking for a takedown. Etevem pushes down on Munanaposa's head and hops out. Etevem looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Etevem with a poor takedown and Munanaposa counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Munanaposa. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deron Etevem. That's going to take a lot out of him. Munanaposa lands a nice knee to the body. Munanaposa gets underhooks to prevent Etevem's takedown attempt.
Munanaposa gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Munanaposa controlling the pace. Munanaposa wants to free his trapped foot but Etevem is holding on for dear life with his legs. Still in half guard, Munanaposa seems content to control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Munanaposa tries to stand and escape but Etevem is controlling the position. Etevem looking for submissions off his back. Munanaposa perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not.
