The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Kirby throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A punch lands to the side of James 's head but he takes it in his stride. Some wild striking there from James.
Kirby pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces James back to the cage. Kirby follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. James scores with a punch to the head. Kirby swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and James counters with a series of strikes. Kirby will be more careful next time no doubt. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kirby will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kirby throws a body punch but James moves out of range. Kirby throws a looping overhand right but James ducks down to avoid it. James drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Kirby can't do much from the bottom here.

Kirby throws a wild body kick that James sees coming a mile off. James throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
John Kirby is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kirby throws out a token jab with nothing on it. James jabs Kirby right on the nose. Kirby blinks but takes it well.
It looks like John Kirby has been cut. James walks into a straight right hand from Kirby. James dips to his left and cracks Kirby with an uppercut! Kirby cracks James with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kirby connects with a right hand. James shakes it off.

James bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. James gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Kirby throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A telegraphed right hand from Kirby misses the target. Kirby lands a leg kick that knocks James off balance momentarily. Kirby lands with a nice combination. James backs away looking to recover. Kirby scores with a body shot.
James misses the jab. Kirby waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract James. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! James connects with a single shot there. James rushes Kirby and presses him up against the cage. Kirby throws a punch but it's blocked by James. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Kirby will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on John Kirby's cut. That's time! Back to the action!

James paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Kirby scores with a decent looking hook. James bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Kirby throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

James might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. James takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

James scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. James's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. James on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

James keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kirby. Kirby throws a body kick that misses. A nice inside leg kick there by Kirby. That's going to slow James down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kirby to score with a decent uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! James gets cracked there but stands up to it.
James shoots in looking for a takedown but Kirby manages to keep the fight standing, pushing James's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Kirby misses with a shot to the body and James counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kirby is lucky that one didn't land flush. Kirby looks to land a left hand but James moved out of range nicely. Kirby throws a right hand that James ducks under and follows up with a left that James also avoids with ease. James fails in his attempt to clinch. James shoots for a double leg takedown but Kirby sprawls well. He's pushed James's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. James moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Kirby has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kirby there as he acknowledges the shot. Kirby feints and then cracks James's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow James down.

Kirby lands the left hand. Kirby fakes high and swings low for a body shot but James manages to avoid it. James has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Kirby falls off balance throwing a combination
and James counters with a nice uppercut. Devon James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kirby digs a good body shot into James's ribs. John Kirby is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kirby ducks down and throws a hook to the body but James moves away. Kirby missing with a left hand there. James was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kirby swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Kirby. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kirby, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Alonso is working Storm over with some ground and pound from side control. Alonso cracks Storm with an elbow. That is naaassty. Alonso is trying to get an arm triangle but Storm is defending well. Storm is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Alonso's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Storm has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Alonso. Oh but Storm has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Alonso goes limp - he's gone! Storm jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

It looks like Stevie Hinch has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hinch shoots in for a takedown but Solseng shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Hinch blocks the body kick.

Solseng lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hinch takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Solseng goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Solseng thows a body kick. Hinch tries to catch it but that hurt him. Solseng scoring well with a low kick there.

Hinch tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
