Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Calia paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Smith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Kim Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Calia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but Calia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rapp connects with a good right hand that stumbles Waitzel. Waitzel circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Rapp throws a right and a left that Waitzel avoids nicely.
Waitzel throws a lazy right hand but Rapp sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rapp stuns Waitzel with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Rapp keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Rapp works Waitzel's body with a nice hook.
Waitzel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rapp moves away.
Rapp swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Waitzel loads up on a big right hand but Rapp slips the punch.

and Waitzel counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Waitzel has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rapp finds it's way round the side to connect with Waitzel's head.

Waitzel lands a nice shot that snaps Rapp's head back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Waitzel scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Rapp tries to clinch up but Waitzel circles away and keeps his distance.
Rapp throws an overhand right that lands on Waitzel's shoulder, as Waitzel tries to avoid the shot.

Waitzel has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rapp finds it's way round the side to connect with Waitzel's head.

Rapp wants to clinch
and Rapp takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rapp works Waitzel's body with a nice hook.
Rapp lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rapp misses with a looping left.

Rapp moves into the clinch.
Waitzel fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Waitzel lands with a left to the head.
Waitzel stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Waitzel blocking some punches.
Waitzel throws a punch but it's blocked by Rapp.
Waitzel lands a shot to the body.
Rapp blocks an uppercut.
Waitzel blocks an elbow strike from Rapp.
Waitzel can't find room to land a body shot as Rapp controls the action.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Waitzel digs a right hand into Rapp's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Rapp's gas tank.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Waitzel tries to work over Rapp's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Rapp throws an elbow that misses.
With the fighters up against the cage, Rapp throws an elbow but misses.
Rapp taking a breather.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Shane Waitzel will probably get the nod.

Rapp throws a hook to the side of Waitzel's head but Waitzel sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rapp swings widly with a right hand
and Waitzel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Mitch Rapp seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Waitzel drops Rapp with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rapp looks back up at him and smiles so Waitzel waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rapp throws a sloppy body shot
and Waitzel counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Rapp misses with a wild combination.
Waitzel throws a right and a left that both miss.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Waitzel takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Waitzel feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Rapp sprawling to the canvas! Rapp rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Waitzel finish him?!

Rapp is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Waitzel throws a head kick that misses.
Rapp is still on wobbly legs! Can Waitzel finish him?
Rapp swings widly with a right hand
and Waitzel rattles Rapp with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Rapp tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Waitzel dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Rapp stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Shane Waitzel!
