The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Florentino. Bailaaja checks the leg kick. Florentino tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bailaaja paws at him with a jab and circles away. Florentino tries to clinch up and Bailaaja counters with a nice uppercut. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Machida scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Machida moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Barnes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Barnes misses with a lunging right hand
and Machida counters with a two punch combo. Machida leaves Barnes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Machida lands a jab. Barnes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Machida is fending him off so far but Barnes persists. Nope, Machida circles away and we're back to standing. Machida slips a jab from Barnes. Antonio Rodrigo Machida is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Barnes misses with a left hand and Machida cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Barnes with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Machida to score with a decent uppercut. Barnes swings for the body but Machida moves out of range.
Barnes throws a leg kick and Machida counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Machida scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Barnes throws an overhand right that lands on Machida's shoulder, as Machida tries to avoid the shot. Barnes throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Machida counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Barnes misses with a hook. Machida ducked under it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Machida scores with the left hand. Barnes knows he should have avoided that one. Barnes jabbing away but nothing is landing. Barnes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Machida is trying to buck Barnes off. Machida is trying to stand and escape here. He's got onto all fours but that's just let Barnes take his back! Uh oh - Barnes has got a rear naked choke here! Machida is forced to tap! It's all over! One monent is all it takes in this sport!
