The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Svans throws a jab but it's blocked by James.
Svans ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Svans tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
James takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Svans defends well against a solid takedown attempt from James.

James gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by James as Svans tries to tie him up.

James escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Svans lands a right hook to the body.
Svans lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but James circles away quickly and effectively.
James on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Svans ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
James takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Svans enables James to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Svans manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

James seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Svans escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. James gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Svans has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. James doesn't defend quickly enough and Svans has managed to lock this one up! Can James escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Svans on a fantastic submission victory.

Ives has instead reached around Allen's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ives arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
