The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jinhui shoots in for a takedown but Slayton shows good takedown defense. Sloppy strikes from Slayton. Those never looked like landing. Slayton scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Mao Jinhui has been cut. Jinhui misses with a takedown attempt and Slayton counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Jinhui! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bruce Slayton! Mao Jinhui was interviewed post fight and said 'i lose because, the other fighter had luck'.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kajiwara misses with a head kick.

Akiyama wants to take a breather but Kajiwara is having none of it. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Kajiwara pushes Akiyama off looking to stand but Akiyama dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Satoshi Kajiwara will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kajiwara shoots in for a double leg but Akiyama sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kajiwara tries to bum rush Akiyama with a series of wild strikes but Akiyama uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Akiyama blocks the body kick.
Kajiwara throws a lazy head kick and Akiyama counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Akiyama tries to stand but can't do so whilst Kajiwara controls his leg. Akiyama trying to control from half guard but Kajiwara is working away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kajiwara wants to stand and escape but Akiyama is having none of it. Akiyama got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kajiwara has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Akiyama has managed to get both his arms back between Kajiwara's legs - danger averted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kajiwara is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Kajiwara trying to mount his opponent but Akiyama defends it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kajiwara doesn't succeed with the takedown and Akiyama counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Kajiwara misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Kajiwara throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Kajiwara enables Akiyama to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kajiwara manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Akiyama won't allow Kajiwara to sweep him here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kajiwara escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Akiyama gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Akiyama passes Kajiwara's left leg - he's now in half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Satoshi Kajiwara showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kajiwara, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Uy just content to control the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ferreira can do anything to dispel that myth. Uy stands up and beckons Ferreira to his feet. Uy pushes Ferreira up against the cage in a clinch. Uy dips a shoulder and cracks Ferreira with a mighty uppercut! Ferreira falls back against the cage and Uy unloads with a barrage of strikes! Ferreira is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Uy screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Silva wants to clinch but Shibata slips to the side and Shibata counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Shibata. Shibata stops Silva from standing up. Shibata trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Shibata postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Shibata's corner is telling him to maintain position. Silva wants to stand up but Shibata is controlling him. Shibata throws a big elbow that misses. Shibata decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Shibata stands and steps away. Silva gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Shibata works over Silva's head and body with a nice combination. Shibata misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva moves to clinch but Shibata breaks away and Shibata counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Shibata is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shibata is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Shibata has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Shibata gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Silva takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Shibata lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Anderson Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Silva tries to clinch but fails miserably and Shibata counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Shibata drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Shibata off! Shibata jumps back into Silva's guard. Shibata drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Shibata as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Silva screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Shibata! Nice submission victory there!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duarte throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Francisco shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Duarte as he jumps to the side. Francisco bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Francisco really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Duarte misses the shot to the body. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Thomas, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. 19 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Bob Sapp! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sapp looks to land a left hand but Akande moved out of range nicely. Sapp throws a hook but Akande blocks it. Akande is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
It looks like Kasim Akande has been cut. Akande thows a body shot but no joy. Akande lands with a shot to the body. Akande connects with a single shot there. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sapp checks a leg kick. Akande lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Sapp lands a nice shot to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sapp throws out a loose jab but Akande uses good head movement to avoid it. Sapp throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Akande looks for a takedown but Sapp sprawls well. Akande shoots in looking for a takedown but Sapp manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Akande's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Akande gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Akande misses with a body kick. A big right from Sapp misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sapp thuds his right hand into Akande's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Akande shoots in and drives through. Sapp sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kasim Akande. That's going to take a lot out of him. Akande tries to land a leg kick but Sapp saw it coming and moves away.
Sapp fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Akande manages to avoid it. Akande looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sapp is fending him off so far but Akande persists. Nope, Sapp circles away and we're back to standing. Akande takes a jab right on the kisser.
Akande lands a lovely overhand right. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Akande ducks under a wild hook from Sapp. Sapp throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Akande to counter with a crisp jab. A cross from Sapp lands. Akande shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Sapp on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Sapp drops Akande with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Akande looks back up at him and smiles so Sapp waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Akande fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sapp is out of range. Akande throws a quick inside leg kick. Akande throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sapp's waist but Sapp gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Akande off to one side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akande displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sapp throws out the jab. Sapp misses with a hook. Akande ducked under it nicely. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Akande. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Sapp misses with a left hand and Akande counters with a head kick. That will keep Sapp thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Akande closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sapp did well to prevent Akande getting side control. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Akande wants to work for an arm triangle but Sapp is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Akande looking to pass the guard. Akande drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sapp looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sapp looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sapp!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akande is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Akande is working hard here to advance position. Sapp tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Akande sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Sapp not landing any meaningful shots this time. Sapp lands strikes from half guard. Sapp working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Sapp throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Akande looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Akande wants to get back to full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Akande looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Akande actively working from the bottom here. Sapp scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Sapp is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Sapp seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Sapp wants to control but Akande is keeping him busy. Akande looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Sapp winds up and cracks Akande with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Kasim Akande's cut is getting worse. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sapp lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Kasim Akande's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Sapp lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Akande quite badly. Akande pulls Sapp in close trying to recover. Sapp postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Akande on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Akande doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
