The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cyran swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Alvarez shoots for a double leg takedown but Cyran sprawls well. He's pushed Alvarez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A left and a right from Alvarez both land. Nice combination.

Cyran closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Alvarez quickly recovers to half guard.
Cyran slips a nice elbow through Alvarez's hands, connecting with Alvarez's forehead.
