1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dominik Cyran! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Viktor Lagutenko and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sakurai fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Sakurai tries for a takedown but Cyran sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Cyran shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sakurai napping and manages to drive through into side control! Cyran working the ground and pound. Sakurai can't do much from the bottom here. Sakurai on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Cyran working the ground and pound from side control. Sakurai manages to work his way to half guard, despite Cyran's best efforts. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Still in half guard, Cyran seems content to control. Cyran prevents Sakurai from improving his position. Sakurai is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cyran scores with a couple of nice shots. Cyran working over Sakurai with some ground and pound. Sakurai looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Cyran is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Sakurai on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cyran working Sakurai over with strikes. Cyran looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Sakurai might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cyran seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Sakurai on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Cyran controlling the pace. Cyran lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Well, if Cyran is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cyran lands a nice short elbow.
Sakurai is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cyran controlling the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sakurai is looking to improve his position.
Sakurai is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sakurai taking some punishment here, with Cyran in his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cyran with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cyran lands a nice short elbow. Cyran lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Oh Sakurai is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cyran working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Ground and pound from Cyran. Sakurai taking some punishment here, with Cyran in his half guard. Cyran winds up and cracks Sakurai with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Cyran is nestled in close to Sakurai, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Cyran looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Cyran looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Cyran is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Sakurai is hurt! He's hurt bad - Cyran fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Sakurai from any more punishment! Congratulations to Cyran! Great finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rak tries to sprawl but Batarao drives through with a takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Batarao tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Rak. Rak tries to get to full guard but Batarao has control of the leg. Batarao is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rak doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Batarao. Batarao tries to stand but can't do so whilst Rak controls his leg. Batarao wants to pass to mount but Rak is defending the position. Batarao is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rak defends it well. Rak is pressing down on Batarao's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rak manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rak looking to control but Batarao is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Batarao tries to hold on but Rak pushes him away. Batarao is desperately trying to improve his position but Rak has a good base and remains in mount. Rak takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Rak is hanging on to Batarao's back as he tries to escape.
Rak is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Batarao defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. This has been an exciting period of action! Batarao is keeping busy.
Rak is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Batarao tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rak can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Batarao is looking to escape. Batarao is looking to get to half guard. Rak tries to control but Batarao wriggling away. Batarao is trying desperately to improve position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Batarao can do anything to dispel that myth. Rak looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Batarao can't escape the position.
Batarao is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Rak has taken his back.
Batarao just trying to survive but Rak is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rak working for the choke. Batarao really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rak controlling well, preventing Batarao from escaping the position.
Batarao holding both Rak 's hands and preventing any damage. Rak working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Batarao is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Rak has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Batarao taps out!

Kotanidis is rocked! Kotanidis gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Glover gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lobo was well out of range. Poor timing from Silva. Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lobo swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lobo ducks under a wild hook from Silva. Lobo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Lobo throws a sloppy head kick and Silva counters with an outside leg kick.
Lobo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Silva. Silva tries a head kick but it misses.
Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva tries to clinch up but Lobo circles away and keeps his distance. Silva takes the fight into the clinch. Silva tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lobo breaks the clinch.
Lobo scoring well with a low kick there.
Lobo feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Silva's calf. Silva misses with a body shot.
Silva closes the distance but Lobo moves to the side and Lobo counters with a nice leg kick. Lobo tries a head kick but it misses.
Lobo misses with a head kick.
Lobo's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Lobo duly obliges. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Lobo. Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lobo's waist but Lobo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lobo.
Silva looks winded! Lobo throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely. Lyoto Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lobo tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lobo to the ground. Lobo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Master Lobo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lyoto Silva. Lobo connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Lobo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lobo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Silva. Silva throws a head kick that misses. Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lobo manages to avoid it. Lobo slips under a jab. Silva throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lobo counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Lobo looks at the referee who does nothing so Lobo lands a crushing right that sends Silva to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Master Lobo!
