The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris fails to land the takedown. Harris ducks under a wild hook from Mathers. Mathers scores with a leg kick.
Mathers is looking to slow Harris down with leg kicks. Harris wants to land a leg kick but Mathers is out of range. Mathers throws a series of strikes that have Harris backpedaling.

Mathers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Harris manages to avoid it. Harris uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mathers. Harris takes one to the side of the head.
Harris shoots in looking for a takedown but Mathers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Harris's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Harris blocks the body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Mathers controls Harris momentarily but Harris frees himself. Harris showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Mathers wants to sweep here but Harris controlling him for the moment. Harris stands up over Mathers, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mathers utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Harris slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marshall Mathers dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Marshall Mathers seems to be getting the better of the standup. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Harris crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mathers - the referee stops the clock and Harris gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mathers. A clash of legs there as Dunn blocks the low kick. A good leg kick by Dunn. Dunn feints a jab promting Ochoa to slip. Dunn then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ochoa slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. A slapping leg kick lands for Ochoa.
Ochoa takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Dunn has a takedown stuffed. Dunn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ochoa paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nice body punch from Ochoa. Dunn lands with a slapping head kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dunn closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ochoa quickly recovers to half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. I think Riley might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Queen - It's A Hard Life. Surov has chosen Amphetamines as his entrance music. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Surov has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Surov moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Riley looks to land a left hand but Surov moved out of range nicely. Surov moves out of range of the body kick.
