The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kishida tries to clinch but Fitch is having none of it. Kishida circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kishida tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fitch swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kishida tries for a takedown but Fitch circles away easily and Fitch counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kishida won't be happy with that. Kishida struggling a bit here. Fitch controlling the position from side mount. Kishida is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kishida is trying to escape and get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fitch taking a breather here.

Kishida looking to secure an arm triangle but Fitch defends it well. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Fitch wants to hold on but Kishida pushes him away. Fitch is wriggling around trying to escape.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pyle displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dias. Nice takedown defense from Pyle. No joy for Dias on that attempt. Dias shoots in but Pyle avoids the takedown attempt easily. Mike Pyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafa Dias. Pyle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dias to the mat! Dias manages to get full guard. Dias keeping moving, preventing Pyle from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pyle accidentally thumps the mat. Pyle is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Dias is hurt! He's hurt bad - Pyle fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Dias from any more punishment! Congratulations to Pyle! Great finish!

Gutz lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. That kick from Gutz tenderised Kelvin's leg. Kelvin is trying to keep his angry face on. A nice inside leg kick there by Gutz. That's going to slow Kelvin down. Kelvin wants to clinch. Gutz lands with a thumping leg kick.
Gutz feints and then cracks Kelvin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kelvin down. Skillinjah has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Horrible takedown by Skillinjah or perhaps it was just good defense by Lucianetti which made him look bad. Skillinjah walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Skillinjah misses with a jab, cross combination.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lucianetti lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Skillinjah at a distance.
Skillinjah has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lucianetti finds it's way round the side to connect with Skillinjah's head. Skillinjah takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pauly Skillinjah. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Skillinjah, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
