Verbana throws a hook but Pagliarulo avoids it easily. Verbana dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pagliarulo. That did some damage! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pagliarulo misses with a low kick as Verbana jumps back. Verbana thumps Pagliarulo with a low kick. Pagliarulo looks winded! Pagliarulo blocks a jab. Pagliarulo throws a hook to the side of Verbana's head but Verbana sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Verbana tries a head kick but it misses.
Verbana throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Verbana takes a swing at Pagliarulo's ribcage but misses. John Verbana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A good leg kick by Verbana. Verbana cracks Pagliarulo with a left hook right on the temple and Pagliarulo goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Verbana lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Pagliarulo is OK!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Verbana! John Verbana spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darius Grimshaw! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.

Some bone on bone action there as Kingsbury checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Grimshaw blocks a leg kick. Grimshaw takes a body punch but keeps moving. Kingsbury scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Grimshaw doesn't seem bothered though. Grimshaw with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kingsbury to score with a decent uppercut. Grimshaw looks to land a combination but Kingsbury avoids it well. Grimshaw checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Kingsbury jabs at Grimshaw's body. Kingsbury fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Grimshaw is out of range. Grimshaw throws a head kick but Kingsbury moves out of range.
Kingsbury changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Kingsbury tries to land a front kick but Grimshaw steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Grimshaw is defended easily by Kingsbury. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kingsbury throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Grimshaw changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kingsbury tries to avoid it but Grimshaw manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kingsbury to the ground. Kingsbury escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jerry Kingsbury has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darius Grimshaw. Kingsbury lands with a cross. A decent looking cross lands there for Kingsbury. Grimshaw gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Grimshaw moves forwards but Kingsbury connects with a nice, crisp jab. Kingsbury throws a body kick that misses. A head kick misses from Kingsbury. Kingsbury lands with a good body shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. No luck for Grimshaw with that takedown attempt. Kingsbury throws a leg kick but Grimshaw sees it coming and checks it nicely. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Grimshaw is defended easily by Kingsbury. Kingsbury defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Grimshaw.

A head kick misses from Kingsbury. Grimshaw shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kingsbury sprawls well. Kingsbury wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grimshaw gets slowly back to his feet. Grimshaw fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Grimshaw shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kingsbury but Kingsbury pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kingsbury goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Kingsbury feints a jab promting Grimshaw to slip. Kingsbury then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Grimshaw slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Kingsbury stuffs the takedown. Grimshaw shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Grimshaw is still on wobbly legs! Can Kingsbury finish him? Kingsbury cracks a nice hook into Grimshaw's ribs. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kingsbury steps in with a hook that catches Grimshaw right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Kingsbury follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Grimshaw looks absolutely devastated.

Raines trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Raines throwing strikes but missing. Raines is looking to work some ground and pound but Silver has wrist control. Silver working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Raines. Raines passes Silver's left leg - he's now in half guard. Silver is not content to let Raines control the position.

Lucky escape for Silver because Raines loaded up on that one. Silver holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Raines tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Doe is bucking up trying to escape but Gabriel cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Gabriel lands a heavy elbow. Doe is in all sorts of trouble here.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Gabriel lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Doe can do anything to dispel that myth. Gabriel throws a wild left hand from mount and Doe manages to wriggle his way back to half guard. Doe is trying to get back to full guard. Doe is looking to control Gabriel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Doe avoid being mounted? As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gabriel moves into full mount! Doe won't be happy about that! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Doe bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Gabriel counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gabriel. Gabriel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Doe's guard. Gabriel misses with a head shot. Doe uses the momentum to regain guard.
Doe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gabriel defends well.

The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gabriel tries to move into full mount but can't pass Doe's legs.
