Hicks shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kelvin as he jumps to the side.
Hicks throws a combination. Kelvin tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Hicks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kelvin's waist but Kelvin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hicks off to one side.
Kelvin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hicks tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kelvin is in Hicks's guard.

Penn with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gonzalez to score with a decent uppercut.
Gonzalez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Penn.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Penn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gonzalez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Penn has an Americana. Gonzalez didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Penn is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Penn hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Derrick James Magnaye decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
