Sanders tries to keep at a distance but Nikolaev has taken the fight into the clinch.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gavin pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Brown misses with the combination.
Nice jab there from Gavin.
Nice uppercut lands for Brown. That snapped Gavin's head back.
Gavin is looking to score with low kicks.
Gavin tries to work over Brown's front leg with a kick but Brown checks it.

Gavin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Brown has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Brown isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Gavin stacks Brown on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Gavin!

Brown moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Brown has his foot on Gavin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gavin works his way back into a safe position though.

Brown has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Gavin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Brown.

Gavin pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Gavin missing with a left hand there. Brown was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Brown jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Gavin moves out of range of the strikes.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brown.
Gavin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gavin lands a glancing blow to the side of Brown's head.

Gavin loads up on a big right hand but Brown slips the punch.
Brown keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gavin. Brown does a little dance to reset his feet.
Brown tried to score with a low kick but Gavin checks it.
Brown uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gavin.
Gavin misses the jab.

Brown throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brown.
Danny Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gavin on the side of the head.
Brown loads up on a big right hand but Gavin slips the punch.
Brown throws a big shot that misses.
Gavin feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Browns jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Brown misses with a few strikes there.

Brown throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gavin sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Gavin feints and then cracks Brown's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Brown down.
Gavin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brown.
Brown slips a jab and a cross from Gavin.

Brown has closed the distance and engaged Gavin in a clinch.
Gavin swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Gavin looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Gavin pushes Brown back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brown lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Gavin backwards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brown breaks from the clinch.
Gavin connects with a nice looking jab.
The fighters circling - Brown throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Brown throws out a leg kick but Gavin moves out of range and Brown only half commits.
Gavin throws a shot from downtown. Brown moves away and avoids it.
Brown swings widly with a right hand
letting Gavin counter with a right hand.
Gavin connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Brown momentarily.

Brown is rocked!
Brown takes a swing at Gavin's ribcage but misses.
Oh Brown is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brown misses with a low kick.
Brown walks straight into a right hand from Gavin - that's dropped him! Gavin jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Brown from any more punishment! Brown complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tommy Gavin!
A very excited looking Tommy Gavin made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
