The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raines fails with an attempt to clinch.
Raines throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ganesha's waist but Ganesha gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Raines off to one side.
Good standup being displayed there by Ganesha as he connects with a hook.
Ganesha misses with an uppercut. Raines saw that one coming.
Raines tries to clinch up but Ganesha circles away and keeps his distance.
Raines closes the distance but Ganesha moves to the side
and Ganesha counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Raines thinking.
Raines wants to clinch.
Raines shoots in looking for a takedown but Ganesha manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Raines's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Raines moves in looking to clinch but Ganesha pushes him off.
Lord Ganesha is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Raines takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Raines has a takedown stuffed.

Raines takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Raines seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Ganesha is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Ganesha.
Ganesha's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Raines jumps guard but Ganesha turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.

Ganesha lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Ganesha lands a nice shot to the body.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Raines. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Raines goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ganesha prevents it.
Raines is trying to maintain a safe position but Ganesha gets an underhook and turns Raines into the ropes.

Raines tries to pull guard but Ganesha holds him up against the ropes and eventually Raines drops back down to his feet.
Ganesha is pushing Raines up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Raines struggles to land a body shot inside as Ganesha controls his hands.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ganesha tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Raines was well out of range. Poor timing from Ganesha.
Raines drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Raines throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ganesha throws a big shot that misses.
Ganesha lands with a hook. Raines tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

It looks like Reno Raines has been cut.
Lord Ganesha seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ganesha throws a solid leg kick but Raines takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ganesha.
Ganesha lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Ganesha cracks Raines on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Raines falls backwards against the ropes. Ganesha follows up with more strikes that drop Raines to his knees. Ganesha keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Raines! This one is all over!

John Verbana was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
