Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ken Umato! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Kuiper! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Umato throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
letting Kuiper counter with a right hand. Kuiper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kuiper misses with a head kick.
Umato gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kuiper is trying to break the clinch but Umato has him pressed against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kuiper throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Umato dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kuiper. That did some damage!

Umato throws a chopping leg kick but Kuiper manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Umato swings away with a leg kick that misses. Kuiper throws a hook but Umato avoids it easily. Umato scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Umato trying to control the pace. Umato seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Kuiper is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Souza moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
It looks like Jar Krohn has been cut. Krohn closes the distance and pushes Souza back into the cage. A head punch on the inside from Souza fails to land. Krohn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Souza walks away with a smile on his face. Krohn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Souza gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Krohn to score an easy takedown into full guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Krohn stopping the sweep attempt from Souza. Krohn postures up in Souza's guard and throws a big left but Souza blocks it. Krohn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Souza works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Krohn wants to control from the top but Souza keeps moving. Souza working a defensive guard here.

We're going to have a standup here because Jar Krohn wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Krohn clinches. Krohn gets a trip takedown into half guard. Krohn throwing shots but Souza is blocking nicely. Krohn not landing any meaningful shots this time. Krohn throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Souza to regain full guard. Krohn with a flurry of punches that miss. Krohn with a nice head shot there. Krohn looking to sit in guard and control but Souza gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Krohn looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krohn can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Souza controls the pace. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Turtle Souza has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Krohn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Souza sprawls well. Souza wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Krohn gets slowly back to his feet. Krohn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Souza sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Krohn somewhat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jar Krohn dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jar Krohn's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Krohn with the ground and pound but Souza uses the opportunity to regain guard. Krohn throws an elbow that misses. Souza uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Krohn's guard. Nice move by Souza! Krohn keeping moving, preventing Souza from controlling successfully. Souza might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Krohn haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Turtle Souza hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Krohn has a takedown stuffed. Krohn shoots in for a takedown but Souza shows good takedown defense. The fight stays on the outside here - Krohn looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Krohn darts in and clinches Souza up against the cage. Krohn is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Souza is defending well for now. A battle for position here, against the cage. Krohn goes for a takedown attempt but Souza pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Souza throws a series of punches but Krohn avoids them all with ease. Souza works over Krohn's head and body with a nice combination. Krohn fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Souza to the ground. Krohn is now in Souza's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Krohn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Krohn throws an elbow that misses. Souza uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Krohn's guard. Nice move by Souza! Krohn is trying to keep Souza in close.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Souza wants to control from the top but Krohn keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Krohn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Donk. Souza catches Krohn right on the button with a cross. Krohn shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Souza but Souza pushes him off and we're back to square one. Souza misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Souza stalks Krohn and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Krohn's face. Krohn staggers backwards, shaken. Turtle Souza is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Souza fails to land with a series of punches.
Krohn fails miserably with a takedown attempt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Krohn throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Souza was covering up waiting for the punch and Krohn finishes the takedown easily into guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Souza can do anything to dispel that myth. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Souza can't keep his opponent in guard - Krohn advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krohn throws a strike but Souza avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Souza keeping moving, preventing Krohn from controlling successfully. Krohn slips nicely into half guard. Souza is trying to control but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Krohn prevents Souza from improving his position. Krohn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Turtle Souza will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Jar Krohn's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Krohn not landing any meaningful shots this time. Krohn is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Krohn thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Souza's head. Souza is refusing to be controlled, as Krohn sits in half guard. Krohn slips a nice elbow through Souza's hands, connecting with Souza's forehead. Krohn is nestled in close to Souza, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Krohn thows a huge punch but Souza dodges it nicely.

Souza takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Souza taking some punishment here, with Krohn in his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Krohn not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Krohn moves into full mount! Souza won't be happy about that! Souza is in a horrible position here. Krohn smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Krohn has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Souza's face.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jar Krohn! After the fight, Jar Krohn was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
