The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A right-left combo lands from Forte. Forte moves into the clinch. Weston tries to pull guard but Forte holds him up against the cage and eventually Weston drops back down to his feet.
Weston jumps guard but Forte stands there with Weston around his waist. Weston gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Forte has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Weston is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Weston fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesse Weston. That's going to take a lot out of him. Forte has hold of one of Weston's legs. Weston is fighting the takedown attempt but Forte gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Weston could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Weston is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Forte instigates a clinch. Forte has hold of one of Weston's legs. Weston is fighting the takedown attempt but Forte gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Forte stands and steps away. Weston gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Forte defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Weston. Forte slaps away a takedown attempt from Weston, before circling back to the center of the mat. Forte stuffs the takedown. Weston is breathing heavily.

Weston fails with the takedown. Forte throws a right and a left that both miss. Weston fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Forte avoids it really well and circles away. Jesse Weston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Forte gets in close and instigates a clinch. Forte lands a shot to the body. Forte pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Weston throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Forte's waist but Forte gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Weston off to one side. Forte decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Weston might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Forte looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Weston keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Weston has hold of Forte's hands but Forte slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Forte is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Forte decides to stand and escape the position. Forte drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Weston is trying to improve his position. Weston is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Weston is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Forte pulls his head out easily. Forte thows a huge punch but Weston dodges it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weston looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Forte trying to control the action but Weston is working from the bottom. Forte takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Forte really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weston. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Weston wants to improve his position but Forte is controlling well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Weston misses with a takedown attempt and Forte counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Forte ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Forte no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Forte is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weston is fighting off a takedown attempt but Forte is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Weston to the mat. Weston regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Forte trying to control the position from guard on top but Weston is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Weston is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Forte trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Forte throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Weston works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Weston is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Forte defends well. Forte sitting in guard, not really doing much. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Weston working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Forte doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Forte manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Forte dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Forte instigates a clinch. Forte pulls guard. Forte looking to hit a scissor sweep but Weston is one step ahead there. Weston drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Forte dives on top into guard. Weston has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Forte can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Weston keeping moving, preventing Forte from controlling successfully. Forte won't allow Weston to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Forte pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Weston is keeping the position for now. Weston has his foot on Forte's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Forte works his way back into a safe position though. Forte wants to stand but Weston is controlling his posture from full guard. Forte wants to control from the top but Weston keeps moving. Weston is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Forte defends well. Forte is looking to stand up but Weston won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Weston being controlled here, momentarily. Weston escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Forte gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Forte content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Weston looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Weston is looking for a triangle here but Forte uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Forte wants to lay and pray for a moment but Weston keeps working.

Weston doesn't succeed with the takedown and Forte counters with a head kick. That will keep Weston thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Forte changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Weston looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Forte just content to control the position. Forte stands up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Weston gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Forte counters by moving into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Forte showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
A left and a right from Forte both land. Nice combination. Weston misses with a takedown so Forte counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Weston has his foot on Forte's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Forte works his way back into a safe position though. Forte slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Forte scores with a couple of short elbows. Forte slows the pace down. Forte wants to control but Weston is keeping him busy. Forte has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Forte has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Forte fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Weston sprawls well initially but Forte persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Weston is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Forte pulls his head out easily. Forte looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Weston has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Forte. Oh but Weston has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Forte goes limp - he's gone! Weston jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kanaka misses with a takedown attempt - Castle sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Castle plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Tule Kanaka has been cut. Castle closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kanaka did well to prevent Castle getting side control. Castle thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Castle throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Castle decides to stand up. Kanaka gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Castle can't break the clinch.
Kanaka has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Castle uses from the top position. Castle drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kanaka looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kanaka looks to have wriggled free... Kanaka is looking to take a break and control but Castle is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kanaka passes to full mount! Castle is squirming around, avoiding Kanaka's attempts to control the action. Kanaka punishing his opponent with strikes.
