The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Emelianenko wants to clinch up but Mccoy keeps it at a distance. Emelianenko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mccoy. Mccoy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Emelianenko circles away. Emelianenko scores with a hook to the body. Mccoy takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Emelianenko throws a nice head kick!
It looks like LeSean Mccoy has been cut. A momentary lapse in concentration from Emelianenko enables Mccoy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Emelianenko manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Mccoy passes Emelianenko's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Mccoy is pressing down on Emelianenko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Emelianenko is holding on for now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mccoy lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Emelianenko throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mccoy blocks it with crossed arms. Mccoy is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Emelianenko is defending well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Emelianenko lands with a short head shot on the inside. Mccoy has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Emelianenko is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Emelianenko softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Emelianenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mccoy circles away quickly and effectively. Emelianenko is not content to let Mccoy control the position. This has been an exciting period of action! Mccoy in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Mccoy misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Emelianenko is looking for a sweep. Mccoy works to advance to full mount. Emelianenko defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Mccoy looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. LeSean Mccoy is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. A solid body kick from Emelianenko. Mccoy fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Emelianenko goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Emelianenko tries a head kick but it misses.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grim throws a jab when McGee was well out of range. McGee looks for a takedown but Grim sprawls well. McGee drives through with a takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Grim is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McGee is aware though and is defending well. McGee drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Grim manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McGee has Grim in his guard. Grim avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McGee is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Grim defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McGee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. No, Grim has managed to get both his arms back between McGee 's legs - danger averted. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Grim accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Grim looking to pass the guard. Grim drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Grim jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. McGee is looking for a triangle but Grim pushes his legs off easily.
