The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pilgrim counters with a low kick, right behind West 's knee.
Pilgrim keeps West at a distance using the push kick.

West gets tackled into the ropes by Pilgrim. Pilgrim maintains the clinch.
Pilgrim managing to block the knees to the body from West.
Pilgrim prevents the takedown attempt.
West throws an elbow that misses.
Pilgrim tries to land a knee to the head but West blocks with his arms.
Pilgrim wants to stall.

Pilgrim gets control of West's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pilgrim will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pilgrim manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. West manages to get himself to full guard.

Freeman comes into the arena with Some Bodies Gonna Get It blaring out of the sound system. Smith is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Burn it to the ground. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.
