The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rahapussi moves out of range of the leg kick from Matei. Matei throws a lazy head kick and Rahapussi counters with a leg kick. Rahapussi is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. A lazy left from Rahapussi finds it's target. Matei connects with the punch. Matei scores with a jab to the head.
A big left from Matei misses. Matei tried to score with a low kick but Rahapussi checks it. Marius Matei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rahapussi uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Matei has time to react. Rahapussi finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Rahapussi moves away from the strike by Matei. Rahapussi ducks right into an uppercut from Matei. This has been an exciting period of action! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Matei thows a body shot but no joy. Matei throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Matei chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rahapussi can pounce on him.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rahapussi checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Jokinen misses its intended target. Bessmertin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hector Barbosa hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Linhares bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Barbosa's head backwards. Linhares on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Barbosa. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Linhares turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barbosa fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Barbosa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Linhares pinned against the cage. Linhares gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Luis Carlos Linhares is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Linhares does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
