3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jeff Stroud! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stroud steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stoker. Stoker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Stroud stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Stroud has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Stoker is landing a low percentage of strikes. A combination from Stoker does no damage. Stoker shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Stroud scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Stroud keeps the fight on the outside. Some wild striking there from Stoker.
Stoker misses with a double jab.
Stroud scores with a sloppy right hand. Stoker should have avoided that one. Stoker throws a left and a right that both miss
and Stroud counters with a nice uppercut. Stoker takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Stoker lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Stoker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. This has been an exciting period of action! Stroud throws out a leg kick but Stoker moves out of range and Stroud only half commits. Stroud connects with a crisp jab. Stroud lands a jab to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round. Stoker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Stoker takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
No luck for Stoker with that takedown attempt. Stoker is breathing heavily. Horrible takedown by Stoker or perhaps it was just good defense by Stroud which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pat Stoker. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stroud scores with a jab. Nice uppercut there from Stroud. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Croak darts in and clinches Snead up against the cage. Croak has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Snead is trying to keep an underhook but Croak manages to get the takedown into half guard. Snead really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Croak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Croak postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Snead to stand up. Croak is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Croak clinches up against the cage. Croak manages to break the clinch.
Snead is looking to chop away at Croak's legs. Snead tries to bum rush Croak with a series of wild strikes but Croak uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Messinger lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maye circles away quickly and effectively. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Messinger. Messinger shoots for a takedown but Maye saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Messinger misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Maye wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Maye chopping away at his opponent's legs.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rave pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rave misses the shot to the body. Rave gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Van damm counters with a takedown into side control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Rave is trying to work for a sweep but Van damm has mounted him! Rave is trying to stand. Van damm avoids the attempt from Rave to control. Rave is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Rave tries to get back to half guard but can't. Rave gets back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Van damm in particular looking to stall. Rave is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Van damm takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Rave is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Van damm pulls his head out easily.
