Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Claude Van Damned! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, RC King! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Van Damned manages to escape and get back to his feet! Van Damned shoots in for a takedown and gets it. King is trying to control but can't.
King keeping control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

RC King has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Van Damned drives through and clinches with King against the cage.
King has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Van Damned is trying to keep an underhook but King manages to get the takedown into half guard. Van Damned holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Van Damned is trying to stand back up but King is controlling him
Van Damned with the active half guard here but King passes nicely into side control. You can see the frustration on Van Damned's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jean Claude Van Damned. King drives through with a takedown into Van Damned's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Van Damned looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. King is standing up over Van Damned. Van Damned looks to escape but King dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Damned gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. King is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Van Damned looking for subs from the bottom but King mounts him! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

King with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Van Damned is desperately trying to improve his position but King has a good base and remains in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but RC King will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
King closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Van Damned quickly recovers to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. King is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Van Damned doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time King. Van Damned moves into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. King has gone for a leg lock! Van Damned slips out almost immediately though and dives into King's guard. King controlling the position. Van Damned pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. King is keeping the position for now. King keeping moving, preventing Van Damned from controlling successfully. King has control of Van Damned's left arm, preventing Van Damned from doing any damage. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. King closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Van Damned to the mat! Van Damned manages to get full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Damned is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Van Damned knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for King on the ground. King postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Van Damned is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of King, into his guard. Van Damned is fighting to break King's control of his arms but King is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Van Damned has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Damned tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as King holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref stands the fighters back up. RC King was stalling too much, according to the referee. Van Damned looks to score with a jab to the body but King is just out of range. Van Damned bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. King struggling a bit here. Van Damned is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, King has escaped the position, nice work there. King regains half guard. King is holding on to half guard well. Van Damned seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but King does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if King can do anything to dispel that myth. King keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. King is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Van Damned seems to be looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. King preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Van Damned is looking for a kimura here.
King is concentrating on defense, preventing Van Damned from advancing position. Van Damned trying to mount his opponent but King defends it. King is not content to let Van Damned control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. King is looking to improve his position.
Van Damned is sneakily working for an arm triangle but King sees it coming and defends easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but RC King will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Van Damned is adopting a defensive guard. Van Damned will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Van Damned looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

King is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Van Damned has escaped the position, nice work there. RC King has got the better of the ground game so far. King working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

RC King is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baptiste Reno drops his hands momentarily and Clayton takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. That kick from Clayton tenderised Baptiste Reno's leg. Baptiste Reno is trying to keep his angry face on. We've been hearing reports that Clayton has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Baptiste Reno takes a jab right on the kisser.
Clayton lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Clayton misses with a looping left. Baptiste Reno steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Clayton. Baptiste Reno fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Clayton connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Baptiste Reno momentarily.
Baptiste Reno gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Clayton counters with a right hand to the body. Baptiste Reno shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Clayton pushes Baptiste Reno off looking to stand but Baptiste Reno dives back in and keeps control.

Clayton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Baptiste Reno's guard. Clayton postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Clayton has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Clayton lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Good standup being displayed there by Clayton as he connects with a hook. Charles Clayton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Baptiste Reno has a takedown stuffed. Baptiste Reno on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Baptiste Reno takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Charles Clayton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Clayton throws a nice inside leg kick. Clayton cracks Baptiste Reno with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Baptiste Reno throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Clayton's waist but Clayton gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Baptiste Reno off to one side. Charles Clayton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jean Baptiste Reno. Clayton lands a lovely overhand right. Clayton lands with a kick to the temple. Baptiste Reno shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Clayton fakes the leg kick and cracks Baptiste Reno in the body. Baptiste Reno closes this distance looking for a takedown but Clayton circles away. Baptiste Reno takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Baptiste Reno avoids a punch combination nicely.

Clayton scores with a jab. Baptiste Reno acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Clayton lands with an overhand left. Clayton closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Baptiste Reno! Clayton dives in looking to finish! Baptiste Reno is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charles Clayton! Charles Clayton really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Fury Nutrition Inc. logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.

Anderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but River avoids it really well and circles away. River misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Anderson.
Anderson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. River keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
The fight moves into the clinch position. River lands a body punch in the clinch. River tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Anderson avoids it. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Anderson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. River lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Craig Anderson has been cut. Anderson is trying to pull guard but River has him pressed against the cage. River misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Anderson.

A frustrated look appears on River's face as he tries to break the clinch. River has had enough of the clinch but Anderson keeps him there for the moment. River utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. A head punch blocked on the inside by Anderson. A short body shot lands from River as the two fighters clinch.
River pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Anderson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. River is looking to score with low kicks. Anderson fails with a takedown attempt. Steve River has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Craig Anderson. River just misses with a punch to the body.

Anderson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. River lands a body shot. River lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. River on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
River throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Andersons head. River digs a right hand underneath Anderson's ribcage. Anderson let out a lung full of air as it connected. River tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
River manages to break the clinch.

That did some damage! No luck for Anderson with that takedown attempt. This has been an exciting period of action! River wants to land a leg kick but Anderson is out of range. River takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
