Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Lugo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rasmus Tarp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Rasmus Tarp was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tarp closes the distance and clinches up with Lugo, looking for a takedown. Tarp pushes Lugo against the cage but Lugo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lugo lands a leg kick that knocks Tarp off balance momentarily.
Lugo throws a sloppy head kick and Tarp moves out of range easily.
Tarp shoots in but no luck this time.

Lugo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tarp tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lugo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Tarp is trying to maintain a safe position but Lugo gets an underhook and turns Tarp into the cage.
Tarp goes for a takedown attempt but Lugo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Tarp shoots in and drives through. Lugo sprawls well.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tarp.

Tarp moves into the clinch successfully.

Lugo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lugo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Tarp looks winded!
Tarp is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lugo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tarp misses with a takedown attempt - Lugo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Tarp throws a lazy head kick
and Lugo counters with an inside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lugo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Lugo throws a chopping leg kick but Tarp manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Lugo feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Tarp's calf.
Lugo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Lugo slips under a jab from Tarp.
Tarp misses the shot to the body.
Tarp wants to clinch.
Tarp is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lugo.
Rasmus Tarp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lugo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A chopping leg kick lands by Lugo.

The fight stays on the outside here - Tarp looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lugo fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Tarp is out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Tarp tries to clinch there but Lugo circles away.
Tarp closes the distance and clinches up with Lugo, looking for a takedown. Tarp pushes Lugo against the cage but Lugo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tarp shoots for a double leg takedown but Lugo sprawls well. He's pushed Tarp's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lugo leaves Tarp with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Tarp cracks a nice hook into Lugo's ribs.
Lugo misses with a low kick.
Tarp shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lugo defends it nicely.
Daniel Lugo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rasmus Tarp.

Tarp looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lugo is fending him off so far but Tarp persists. Nope, Lugo circles away and we're back to standing.

and Lugo counters with a head kick that drops Tarp to the mat! Tarp scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tarp takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Lugo lands a big head kick that sends Tarp tumbling to the mat! Lugo takes a step backwards and waves Tarp back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Rasmus Tarp has been cut.
Lugo feints with a left and delivers a massive head kick! Tarp collapses like a ragdoll! Game over!

Mendez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cordit looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Mendez has hold of Cordit's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Cordit seems comfortable defending it but Mendez has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Cordit is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Cordit is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Mendez couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jim Mendez!
Jim Mendez seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
Bulan Cordit was interviewed post fight and said 'Fuck u All!!!'.

Wang avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wang gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pedersen.
Pedersen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jens Pedersen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pedersen works Wang's body with a nice hook.

Pedersen darts in and clinches Wang up against the cage.
Wang takes an elbow to the temple.
Come on Pedersen - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Pedersen for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Pedersen creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pedersen gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Pedersen pushes off an throws an elbow but Wang leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Wang's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Pedersen is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Wang has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Pedersen lands an elbow that stopped Wang in his tracks for a moment.

Pedersen gets caught flat footed, as Wang shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Wang stands and throws Pedersen's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Wang trying to control the action but Pedersen is working from the bottom.
Pedersen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pedersen tries to get out of the position.
Pedersen is trying to get back to half guard.
Pedersen trying his best to control but Wang has mounted him.
Wang wants to control the pace but Pedersen is squirming around nicely.

Wang is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Pedersen is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Pedersen flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Wang anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Pedersen and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Wang slips an arm under Pedersen chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Wang has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Wang is squeezing on Pedersen like an anaconda would it's prey. Pedersen fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Long Wang!
Long Wang decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Huggens gets through Cohen's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Huggens lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Cohen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Huggens smiles and moves away.

Nice body punch from Huggens - that landed with a thud.

Huggens keeps control of Cohen as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Huggens is struggling to control the position.
Huggens gets through Cohen's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Cohen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Henry Huggens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yorgi Cohen.
Huggens lands with a right to the head.
