The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soul throws a right and a left that Zorro Ii avoids nicely. Soul will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Soul throws a right hand that Zorro Ii ducks under and follows up with a left that Zorro Ii also avoids with ease. Soul misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Zorro Ii fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Soul, pushing him back against the cage. Zorro Ii wants to take the fight to the mat but Soul manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Zorro Ii tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Soul told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Zorro Ii bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Soul's guard.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Soul manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Zorro Ii swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Horrible takedown by Zorro Ii or perhaps it was just good defense by Soul which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roronoa Zorro Ii. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice jab there from Soul. Soul connects with a body shot that sends Zorro Ii's belly button to the back. Soul scores with a jab. Zorro Ii acknowledges it with a nod of the head. This has been an exciting period of action! He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Zorro Ii seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Soul has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Roronoa Zorro Ii overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. You can see the frustration on Zorro Ii's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kerr misses with a low kick.
Good standup being displayed there by Stahl as he connects with a hook. Kerr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stahl swats him away and circles back towards the center. Stahl throws a looping overhand right but Kerr ducks down to avoid it. We've been told by Kerr's head coaches at Wrath MMA Club $200 that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Kerr on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Stahl digs a good body shot into Kerr's ribs. Kerr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stahl sprawls well. Stahl wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kerr gets slowly back to his feet. Stahl lands with a straight right. Kerr didn't see that one coming.
