Ferben Gowles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That has opened up Raivis Vidzis's cut even more.

Vidzis wants to stay close but Gowles steps back to make room for something. Vidzis seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Gowles and Vidzis drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!

Lagk shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lagk showed some decent athleticism there.

Lagk postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lemon to stand up.
Lagk circles away from the clinch attempt

and Lagk counters with a shoot takedown. Lemon fights it but they end up in guard.
Lagk trying to control but Lemon is working from the bottom.
Lagk pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lemon is keeping the position for now.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lagk told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Lemon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lemon is trying to stand up here but Lagk is controlling him well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lagk connects with a nice short shot to Lemon's temple.

Lemon is pressing down on Lagk's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Lagk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lemon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lagk's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Lemon is rocked!
Lagk postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Lemon covers up, he's hurt! Lagk keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Lagk and the ref steps in to end the fight! Lagk can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Samson moves into range and clinches up with Mstrday.
Samson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mstrday pulls his leg out and moves away.
Horrible takedown by Mstrday or perhaps it was just good defense by Samson which made him look bad.

and Samson counters by clinching up.

Samson has Mstrday pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Samson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Mstrday tumbling to the mat - Samson dives into Mstrday's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mstrday wants to stand up but Samson is controlling him.

Samson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Samson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Samson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Mstrday is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Himag fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Falten is out of range.
Falten darts in looking for a takedown but Himag gets double underhooks and turns Falten into the cage.
Himag tries to score a body lock takedown but Falten shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Himag wants the takedown. Falten is fighting it off but Himag persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Falten's guard against the cage.

Falten looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Himag is defending well. Falten quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Himag has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Falten celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Venger cracks Palinav with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Venger has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Palinav to stand back up!

It looks like Berish Palinav has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Palinav will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Palinav shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Venger as he avoids it easily.
Venger closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Palinav! Venger dives in looking to finish! Palinav is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
