5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jamison Freidrichs! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eaton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Freidrichs counters with a right hand to the body. Eaton has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Madz Crossfit 15 coaches $500pw in the buildup to the fight. Freidrichs misses with a looping left. Eaton is looking to take this fight into the clinch. A big left from Freidrichs misses. Freidrichs takes one to the chin there. Freidrichs dodges the punch combination from Eaton.
Freidrichs lands a jab to the head.
It looks like Abe Eaton has been cut. Eaton shoots for a takedown but Freidrichs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. This has been an exciting period of action! Eaton fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Freidrichs checks it well. Eaton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's four minutes gone in the round. Eaton tries to close the distance and clinch but Freidrichs swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Eaton shoots in for a double leg but Freidrichs sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Eaton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Freidrichs tries to avoid it but Eaton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Freidrichs to the ground. Freidrichs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Eaton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Freidrichs manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Eaton tries to clinch up. Freidrichs is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Eaton. Eaton fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A left lands for Freidrichs. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Eaton leaves his chin hanging out and Freidrichs seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Eaton crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Umanga closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lawson did well to prevent Umanga getting side control. Umanga prevents Lawson from improving his position. Lawson wants to control but Umanga is keeping busy and won't allow it. Cam Lawson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Umanga. Lawson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Umanga shoots in but Lawson avoids the takedown attempt easily. Lawson clinches up with Umanga and pushes him back against the cage. Nice elbow from Lawson. Umanga tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lawson is in Umanga's guard. Lawson works a leg free and moves into half guard. Umanga moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Umanga keeping full guard, as Lawson tries to pass. Umanga anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Lawson and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Umanga slips an arm under Lawson chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Umanga has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Umanga is squeezing on Lawson like an anaconda would it's prey. Lawson fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Knockout throws a lazy right hand but Sharks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Knockout stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Sharks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Knockout swats him away and circles back towards the center. Knockout connects with an inside leg kick. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mazaki shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Sonnen's coach down at Soul Supremacy Elite Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Sonnen's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Sonnen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mazaki.
Mazaki thows a body shot but no joy. Sonnen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mazaki circles away. Sonnen showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mazaki.
Sonnen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sonnen shoots for a double leg takedown but Mazaki sprawls well. He's pushed Sonnen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kosi Mazaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chael Sonnen. Mazaki throws a nice looking combination but Sonnen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sonnen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sonnen trying to mount his opponent but Mazaki defends it. Mazaki is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sonnen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sonnen's back! Mazaki trying to control momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mazaki is really struggling to control Sonnen but he's trying to hold on to the position. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kosi Mazaki just wasn't active enough. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sonnen checks a leg kick. Chael Sonnen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sonnen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mazaki swivels and escapes. Kosi Mazaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mazaki defending well as Sonnen loads up on a big left hand. We've been told by Mazaki's head coaches at Sydney Elite Systems that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. No luck with that takedown attempt from Sonnen. Sonnen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Mazaki misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sonnen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mazaki as he jumps to the side. Mazaki misses with a few strikes there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sonnen on the wrong end of a nice hook.
It looks like Chael Sonnen has been cut. Sonnen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mazaki sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Sonnen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Sonnen doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Mazaki to counter with a crisp jab. Sonnen looks winded! Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mazaki, as that shot connected.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mazaki throws a low kick, looking for Sonnen's leg but Sonnen calmly moves out of range. Sonnen dodges the punch combination from Mazaki.

Sonnen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mazaki drops Sonnen with a beautiful combination! Sonnen stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Mazaki is looking for the KO!
Sonnen is rocked! Mazaki steps in with a hook that catches Sonnen right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Mazaki follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Sonnen looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kosi Mazaki! A less than humble Kosi Mazaki misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zeus looks to land a combination but Gary avoids it well. Zeus connects with a leg kick. Gary looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Gary definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Zeus throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Zeus misses with a combination
and Gary counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Gary tries to pass the half guard into mount. Zeus knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gary thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zeus's head. Gary will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Zeus actively working from the bottom here. Zeus should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gary lands a nice short elbow. Zeus is trying to stand.
Zeus wants to improve his position but Gary is controlling well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gary content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Gary has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gary really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Zeus is looking for a sweep. Gary is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Zeus wants to control but Gary is keeping busy and won't allow it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Zeus lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Zeus throws a right hand that Gary ducks under and follows up with a left that Gary also avoids with ease. Zeus steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gary. Gary tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. No joy there for Zeus, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Zeus saw that one coming. Zeus throws a nice looking combination but Gary bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. A head kick misses from Zeus. Zeus throws a left and a right that both miss
and Gary counters with a single leg into guard. Zeus didn't expect that. This has been an exciting period of action! Gary postures up.

Gary content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Zeus wants to get back to his feet but Gary is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Gary with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Zeus is trying to keep Gary in close.

Gary working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Zeus's head. Gary chips away with some ground and pound. Gary postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Gary is in close to Zeus's body, working some short punches and elbows. Zeus trying to control the position.

Gary is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Gary postures up and lands a big shot to Zeus's brow. Gary landing with the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Gary dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Gary finds Zeus's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Zeus flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Gary lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Zeus will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Steve Gary! Steve Gary was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Tal wants to improve his position but Daniels is controlling well.

Tal is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Daniels pulls his head out easily. Tal is staying active underneath Daniels, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Cuccaro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McShane tries to avoid it but Cuccaro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McShane to the ground. McShane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McShane swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McShane lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. McShane missing with a left hand there. Cuccaro was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A jab lands there for Cuccaro. McShane lands with a hook. Cuccaro tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. A big left from Cuccaro misses. McShane's corner calls for a 1-2. McShane obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. McShane closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Cuccaro is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. McShane is defending well for now. A nice left hand lands by McShane.

I was talking to McShane's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. McShane lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Cuccaro backwards. Nice body punch from McShane - that landed with a thud.
Cuccaro is trying to break the clinch but McShane is controlling him. Cuccaro drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McShane gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mc Haggis is looking to slow Severn down with leg kicks. A combination from Mc Haggis does no damage. Mc Haggis lands with an uppercut that bounces Severn off the cage and back into range. Mc Haggis throws a right and a left that both miss. Nice straight punches there by Mc Haggis. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mc Haggis. Mc Haggis works the jab nicely. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mc Haggis lands a jab to the head.
Mc Haggis wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Mc Haggis ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Severn takes one to the side of the head.
Severn darts in looking for a takedown but Mc Haggis gets double underhooks and turns Severn into the cage. Mc Haggis jumps into guard, dragging Severn to the mat.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Severn is working Mc Haggis over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Severn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mc Haggis looking for a sweep. Not yet Mc Haggis, not yet. Mc Haggis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
