An inside leg kick lands from Hill.
Romulus looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Hill is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Romulus's half guard.

Hill is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Romulus sees it coming and defends easily.
Hill looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Romulus with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Hill slips a nice elbow through Romulus's hands, connecting with Romulus's forehead.

Romulus has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Brooks works over Mcgee's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like Kerry Mcgee has been cut.
Mcgee misses with a takedown attempt - Brooks sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Brooks fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mcgee has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Brooks lands a big head kick that sends Mcgee tumbling to the mat! Brooks takes a step backwards and waves Mcgee back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Mcgee is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brooks pounces like a tiger and cracks Mcgee with a vicious hook! Mcgee is down but not out! Brooks follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

letting McClelland counter with a right hand.

and McClelland counters with a low kick, right behind King 's knee.

McClelland bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McClelland tries for a kimura but King is defending well.

McClelland thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
King stops McClelland from passing to mount.

McClelland decides to take the fight back to the feet.
King swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and McClelland counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and McClelland counters with a monster head kick that knocks King out cold! He topples like fallen a tree, crashing to the mat! Timbeeeeeerrr!

Ketchup is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Ketchup drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ketchup jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Christian not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

OK we're going to have a standup here. John Ketchup hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

I was talking to Christian's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Ketchup tries to break the clinch but Christian is controlling the position.
Christian creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Ketchup's defenses.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Christian obliges.

Christian pulls Ketchup in close to his closed guard and prevents Ketchup from doing any damage or advancing position.

Christian is scooting his butt against the ropes and has managed to get back to his feet. Ketchup presses him back against the ropes, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Christian lands a damaging elbow.
Christian lands an elbow inside that Ketchup shrugs off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Christian dips a shoulder and cracks Ketchup with a mighty uppercut! Ketchup falls back against the ropes and Christian unloads with a barrage of strikes! Ketchup is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the ropes! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Christian screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Nice sprawl there from Williams as Makdessi shoots in.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that George has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

George throws a hook but Dexter blocks it.
Dexter drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Mark Dexter's cut is getting worse.
George closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Dexter! George dives in looking to finish! Dexter is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Boy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bastard is in a horrible position here. Boy smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Advantage comes into the arena with Drain the Blood blaring out of the sound system. Calypso Damione Deathclaw has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rural Advantage's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Advantage keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Advantage shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Damione Deathclaw manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Advantage wants to get up but he can't break Damione Deathclaw's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Damione Deathclaw tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Damione Deathclaw has his foot on Advantage's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Advantage works his way back into a safe position though.
Advantage has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Advantage is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Damione Deathclaw escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Advantage gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Advantage got a little sloppy there for a moment and Damione Deathclaw has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Advantage has managed to get both his arms back between Damione Deathclaw's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round but I would say that Rural Advantage will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Damione Deathclaw shoots for a double leg takedown but Advantage sprawls well. He's pushed Damione Deathclaw's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Rural Advantage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Calypso Damione Deathclaw.

Advantage lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Damione Deathclaw tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Advantage defends well and Damione Deathclaw ends up having to push Advantage into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Damione Deathclaw jumps guard but Advantage stands there with Damione Deathclaw around his waist. Damione Deathclaw gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Advantage's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Damione Deathclaw closes the distance and clinches up with Advantage, looking for a takedown. Damione Deathclaw pushes Advantage against the ropes but Advantage circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Damione Deathclaw changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Advantage tries to avoid it but Damione Deathclaw manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Advantage to the ground. Advantage escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Advantage ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Damione Deathclaw shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Advantage pinned against the ropes. Advantage gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Damione Deathclaw throws a wild hook but Advantage just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Damione Deathclaw gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the ropes! The referee jumps in - Advantage raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
