The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galt closes the distance and clinches up with Heales, looking for a takedown. Galt pushes Heales against the cage but Heales circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Cojones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Matlock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cojones kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Pearl Jam - Do The Evolution. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Matlock drops Cojones with a big knee straight up the middle! Cojones is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Matlock clinches up with Cojones and pushes him back against the cage.
Matlock has Cojones pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Cojones is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Matlock - that's hurt Cojones badly! Oh, another knee lands and Cojones is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Cojones doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ben Matlock tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.

Cortez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
No joy there for Cortez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cortez Rushes Paulson and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Paulson is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Cortez Piles on the pressure and Paulson crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

We've been hearing good reports from Kultane's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Plights or perhaps it was just good defense by Lee which made him look bad.

Lee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Plights tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lee is in Plights's guard.
Lee slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Plights has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lee has managed to get both his arms back between Plights's legs - danger averted.
Lee sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Plights's guard.

Lee has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Lee is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Plights is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Plights flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Lee anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Plights and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Lee slips an arm under Plights chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Lee has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Lee is squeezing on Plights like an anaconda would it's prey. Plights fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Toe has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
