Foley throws a right hand that Menezes ducks under and follows up with a left that Menezes also avoids with ease.

Foley throws a series of punches but Menezes avoids them all with ease.
Foley fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

A left and a right from Simpson both land. Nice combination.
Marquez throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Simpson's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Marquez dives in looking to finish as Simpson flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Marquez's strikes! Marquez is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Simpson's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Simpson was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

MachineTwo throws a nice outside leg kick.
Singh fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but MachineTwo avoids it really well and circles away.
Singh tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Singh fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. MachineTwo sprawls well initially but Singh persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
MachineTwo is refusing to be controlled, as Singh sits in half guard.
MachineTwo tries to get to full guard but Singh has control of the leg.

Singh throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Singh has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Singh with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
MachineTwo is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
MachineTwo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Singh. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

MachineTwo throws a hook but Singh avoids it easily.

and MachineTwo finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
MachineTwo looks to score with a jab to the body but Singh is just out of range.
Singh throws a nice looking combination but MachineTwo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
War MachineTwo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

MachineTwo wants to land a leg kick but Singh is out of range.
MachineTwo lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
MachineTwo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Singh stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

MachineTwo drops Singh with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Singh looks back up at him and smiles so MachineTwo waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Singh is rocked!

It looks like Tigre Singh has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by MachineTwo.
War MachineTwo seems to be getting the better of the standup.
MachineTwo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
MachineTwo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Singh manages to avoid it.
An inside leg kick lands from MachineTwo.

MachineTwo tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Singh is able to avoid easily.
Singh shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with MachineTwo but MachineTwo pushes him off and we're back to square one.

MachineTwo throws a wild body kick that Singh sees coming a mile off.
Horrible takedown by Singh or perhaps it was just good defense by MachineTwo which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tigre Singh. That's going to take a lot out of him.
MachineTwo is looking to chop away at Singh's legs.

Singh bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Singh creates some space and throws a big elbow, but MachineTwo sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Singh swings around for an armbar but MachineTwo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Singh's guard.
Singh is looking to stand up but MachineTwo isn't so interested in that idea.

MachineTwo throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Singh seems to have got his legs back now.

MachineTwo connects with a body shot that sends Singh's belly button to the back.
MachineTwo has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
MachineTwo feints and then cracks Singh's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Singh down.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That kick from MachineTwo tenderised Singh's leg. Singh is trying to keep his angry face on.
MachineTwo cracks Singh with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

MachineTwo lands a big head kick that sends Singh tumbling to the mat! MachineTwo takes a step backwards and waves Singh back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
