The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ax closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Ax's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Carvalho looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Carvalho is trying to control. Garcia wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Garcia can do anything to dispel that myth.

Godin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Axe doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Godin.
