The bell rings for round one and we are underway! White misses with an attempted mid kick.
Kalabokas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but White circles away quickly and effectively. White gets a takedown into half guard. White throwing shots but Kalabokas is blocking nicely. Kalabokas wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. White is working for a kimura but Kalabokas is defending it quite comfortably.
White throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. White works his way into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. White landing strikes. White working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. White is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Kalabokas looks calm but he's in trouble here. White gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Kalabokas is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! White lets go of the hold and Kalabokas can pop his arm back in it's socket.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Negi scores with a nice strike. Gentil takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Gentil throws a left and a right that both miss
and Negi counters with a nice uppercut.
Gentil is rocked! Gentil takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Oh Gentil is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Negi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gentil. Gentil rushes Negi and presses him up against the cage. Negi lands with a short head shot on the inside. Negi softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. A nice left hand lands by Negi.
Gentil tries to circle away but Negi has him pinned against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Negi lands a body punch in the clinch. Negi lands a body punch in the clinch. Gentil wants to break the clinch but can't.

Negi lands with a short head shot on the inside. Negi creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Gentil with a big uppercut! Gentil tries to clinch up but Negi pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Gentil to the mat! Gentil covers up and Negi unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Spartan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Morris, pushing him back against the cage. Spartan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Spartan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Morris tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spartan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Morris connects with a body shot that sends Spartan's belly button to the back. A slapping leg kick lands for Morris.
Spartan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Morris is trying to defend but Spartan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Morris wants to improve his position but Spartan is controlling well.

He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Morris is stalling in the full guard. Morris wants to control from the top but Spartan keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spartan wants to stand but Morris is controlling the position. Morris is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Spartan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Spartan has escaped and now he's on top! Morris looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spartan wants to stand but Morris has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Morris not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Morris is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spartan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Morris, up you get! Morris tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Spartan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Morris shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spartan as he jumps to the side. Spartan has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. John Spartan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Morris is breathing heavily. Morris shoots in for a double leg but Spartan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Some wild striking there from Morris.
Spartan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. John Spartan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spartan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Morris looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Morris wants to get back to his feet but Spartan drags him back down. John Spartan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Spartan decides to stand back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Morris postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Spartan is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Spartan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Morris. Spartan working some nice short punches in the clinch. Morris fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Morris is still in real trouble! Can Spartan finish him? Spartan stands up from guard. Let's bang! Spartan lands a huge takedown. Morris is out but the ref is slow to react and Spartan lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Morris lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

After the fight, John Spartan was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nader shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Koko defends it nicely. Nader shoots in looking for a takedown but Koko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nader's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nader changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Koko tries to avoid it but Nader manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Koko to the ground. Koko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Michael Koko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Nader. Nader takes a shot right to the bread basket. Koko throws a series of punches but Nader moves out of range. Koko has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Koko digs a good body shot into Nader's ribs. Nader tries to score a power double leg takedown but Koko sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nader somewhat. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Nader fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Koko throws a right and a left that Nader avoids nicely. Koko lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Koko. We've been informed that Nader has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Good shot there by Koko. Koko throws a low kick but it's checked well by Nader. Koko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nader drops his hands momentarily and Koko takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Koko fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Nader is out of range. Koko scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Nader doesn't seem bothered though. Nader shoots in looking for a takedown but Koko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nader's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Nader looks winded!

Koko thuds a left hand into Nader's body. Nader takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Koko ducks down and throws a hook to the body. A shot to the liver by Koko. Beautiful body shot. Koko scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. A combination from Koko does no damage. Nader is trying desperately to land a takedown but Koko is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Nader. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Cannabis throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Cannabis shoots in looking for a takedown but Ramirez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cannabis's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Rob Ramirez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ramirez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
