The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lepikhin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Segal counters with a nice right hand that sends Lepikhin toppling to the canvas! Lepikhin scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Segal finish him?!
It looks like Mikhail Lepikhin has been cut. Mikhail Lepikhin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This has been an exciting period of action! Lepikhin gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Segal gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Lepikhin is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Butler misses with a takedown and Pulchra counters with a single leg into guard. Butler didn't expect that. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Pulchra throws a big elbow that misses. Pulchra passes into half guard. Pulchra throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Pulchra wants to pass to mount but Butler is defending the position. Butler has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Butler wants to get back to full guard. Butler trying to control but Pulchra postures up.

Paul misses with a looping left. Slade fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Paul scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Slade doesn't seem bothered though. Paul misses with a wild body shot. Paul fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Slade manages to avoid it. That's one minute gone in the round. Slade has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Paul's face.

The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Kulot doesn't seem to be complaining.
