Sagawa loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Funaki scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Sagawa land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Sagawa stands and salutes the crowd.

Issei Sagawa decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Shimabukuro fakes the leg kick and cracks Danger in the body.
Oh Danger is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shimabukuro explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Shimabukuro throws a powerful right kick. Danger tried to block low but the kick was high! Danger was taken right off of his feet! Shimabukuro jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Masaru Shimabukuro!
Masaru Shimabukuro is the new welterweight champion!
In defeat, Carlos Danger stepped up to the mic, saying 'Ill be back for the title!'.
